Overview

The Local Tour is a two-hour guided snowmobile tour and is our most popular day tour. On the Local Tour, you will experience driving your very own snowmobile in the beautiful Goldstream Valley and learn what it’s like to live as an Alaskan: dry cabins, winter travel, and sub-arctic exposure. The valley is home to many local dog mushers, snowshoers, cross country skiers, fat bikers, and other outdoor enthusiasts alike. On the Local Tour, you will navigate through spruce forests, cruise over frozen lakes, ponds, creeks, and tundra, and feel the thrill of shredding some deep powder! All gear is provided and includes snow boots, snow bibs, mittens, balaclavas, helmets, and goggles. The total tour duration is 2.5 hours and includes 30 minutes of gearing up and a short tutorial on how to safely operate your snowmobiles, followed by a full 2-hour guided tour in the Goldstream Valley. Beginners are welcomed and encouraged!

We are located in the Goldstream Valley, 10 minutes north of downtown Fairbanks. Please meet us for this tour at 1593 Goldstream Road, Fairbanks, Alaska 99709. We are the last cabin on the left at the end of the private drive.

Unforgettable snowmobile adventure

I had an amazing time snowmobiling in Fairbanks, Alaska, with an incredible company that made the whole experience unforgettable. As a first-timer, I was a bit nervous, but Bow,our guide was so thorough with instructions and really made me feel at ease. The equipment was top-notch, and they made sure I was comfortable before we set off, which was a huge relief. The small group was perfect—it felt personal and allowed the tour to be adjusted to everyone’s skill level. It wasn’t rushed, and I could enjoy the ride at my own pace. The scenery was absolutely unreal. Snow-covered mountains, frozen rivers, and endless white landscapes—it really felt like I was in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by pure beauty. Bow also took great photos throughout the tour, capturing some of the most stunning views. It was such a great way to remember the experience. If you’re looking to explore the Alaskan wilderness, I highly recommend this company. They’ll take great care of you, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider. It’s definitely something I’ll never forget!

For the first timers, we learned the basics to operate snowmobiles. Bow, our guide, led us through the trail which had up and down, narrow and wide areas. It was fun to experience different terrain.

Bow was an amazing guide. He was very personable and knowledgeable. This was the highlight of our trip while in Fairbanks. Bow was very professional. When I crashed lol he came straight to my rescue. The snow machines were top notch h, brand new ! Colton wasn’t our guide but he was helpful as well. The dogs were a bonus my daughter loved them !

Amazing experience!! ! Bo was our guide and gave us a fantastic tour through the trails! He was very safety conscious, patient, and checked in with our group along the way to make sure riders didn’t have any concerns. I would highly recommend FSS!!
