Our group had an atypical experience in that there was "unprecedented"rains resulting in flooding of trails and dirt roads. A blessing for the land, challenging for the guide and group. Our guide, Jordan, is amazing. Personable, patient, knowledgeable, and skilled in the outback. Our group was also small, 6, instead of usual 20 that helped given the weather; and they were a great group that flowed with the events.
This was a summer excursion in december. Suppose to be very hot. There is plenty of fresh water and healthy snacks, 3 meals/day provided by company. Guide is driver, trail guide, chief cook; group helps w clean up. The camps are equipped w running water for shower and toilets-greatly appreciated at the end of a hot sweaty day. Cots in tent-cabin are clean and adequate. The van is very comfortable and 4wd which got us through some very muddy dirt roads.
The hikes are in beautiful areas, the choices well thought out. Guide is safety conscious.
Added kudos to Francois another guide who helped out the 2nd nite when our original camp was too flooded and we used his camp and he cooked a delicious curry. Jordan, your BBQ w beef, kangaroo, and camel with salad while watching sunset over Uluru was amazing.
The company is responsive to messaging. I think it has done a great job putting this trip together with appropriate equipment, safety practices, and guide.
