Overview

It is the archaeological territory of an ancient Tayrona city located in the Sierra Nevada whose foundation is attributed to the year 800, many years before Machu Picchu. Tayrona paradise is made up of a series of terraces dug into the mountainside made up of a network of tiled paths and small circular squares. Access to Ciudad Perdida is made by ascending some 1,200 stone steps through the vast jungle of the region.

Our tour with Ecosierra was amazing! Our guide, Esneider, told us about its story and the communities. I loved that the agency handles small groups so it feels more personalized. The tour is incredible organized, the camps are very clean and comfortable for jungle conditions. Fran was our designated cook and our food was amazing… we were never hungry. They also con above and beyond to accommodate all allergies and make sure you are well fed. The hike was hard but doable and we are not very athletic…. You can always go your rhythm and there are plenty of hidration/snack points along the route. I completely recommend this experience, it’s beautiful!

Amazing experience. The guide (esneider) was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The cook (fran) was also very friendly and made amazing meals. The camps were well stocked, clean enough and about as good as you can expect in the jungle in the mountains

We had a great time with Esneider as our guide and Emily as our translator. Esneider had a wealth of knowledge having grown up locally and Emily was warm hearted and great fun to spend time with. We covered 36miles and almost 3000m of height gain so it's a proper trek. There were rivers by the bunk houses so plenty of swims along the way which were welcome. The Lost City itself was just amazing. The pictures on Google really don't do it justice. It's a lot bigger than it looks with lots more to see. Highly recommend!
