Callum is the man! An almost 19 hour tour was made enjoyable due to Callum’s enthusiasm not only for the Dalton Highway or the Alaska Pipeline or the Artic Circle. He was excited and happy to be doing this tour, to be the tour guide and to interact with others on our bus. The roads were rough after the unexpected heatwave then the freezing rain then sub zero temperatures. Callum is the most courteous driver on a very uncourteous road. He didn’t speed, he was polite and let other cars and trucks pass and he always stopped when trucks approached from the opposite direction. His narrative and information was interesting. 19 hours was a long time but I learned a lot about the history of Alaska and Callum can spot a moose miles away! On the way back he stopped to give us the chance to see some Auroras. Although they weren’t super bright it was a fun way to end the trip.

What a wonderful adventure. Our long day up the dalton highway was full of interesting commentary, wildlife and stops along the way. Highly recommend our guide Calem, as he made this experience once in a lifetime.

I was unenthusiastic about having to sit in a bus for that long but the day/night went by SO FAST. Sabrina was our guide and driver and she made the trip so interesting but telling us all about the landscapes we were going through, the fauna & flora, the Alaska pipeline and the northern lights. She was so kind and we felt really safe having her as our driver despite the rougher road conditions. We stopped at multiple interest points, had plenty of time to admire the views and take pictures. The place we stopped at for lunch and dinner was good and the bus was extremely comfortable with plenty of space, reclining seats and screens to watch some videos about Alaska. Seeing the Arctic sign was a great moment and we got lucky to see some aurora on the way back and were able to stop to look at the sky.

We did the Arctic Circle winter drive. Communication was clear from the outset before booking. The tour itself was very interesting! It was pretty pricey and a LOT of driving (9am to 3am) but I learned a lot and went to a place I would've been a bit scared to go to alone seeing as the Dalton Highway can be pretty rough and remote, with mostly truckers driving out there. Plus you're not allowed to go there in a rental car. This way we were safe in a group, in a warm bus, got information via our friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, Calum, and the documentaries he showed on the bus. We did seem to be running a bit behind as we didnt stop at the pipeline but we saw it from the windows. And Caelum was nice enough to stop at Wickersham Dome for a few minutes to see if we could see the northern lights (even though that wasn't our booked tour). It was too cloudy but it's the thought that counts! Thank you Caelum!

Highly Recommend! Our guide Shawn was amazing - knowledgeable, interesting, and a very skilled and safe driver! I was initially hesitant about a 16-hour tour, with over half of it being on the road….but it’s totally worth it! The time on the way to the Arctic Circle flew by as we had many interesting stops, and Shawn was always providing a narrative. Wish we got to see the Northern Lights, but we have a few more days here for that!
