Excellent food and drink. The instructor was very knowledgeable and told us all sorts of cultural details about the spices and how they traditionally made tortillas. We got to grind our own spices and make guacamole and a tomato pumpkin seed dish along with tortillas. We ate delicious traditional Lima soup and pork and beans and cornbread dessert.

What a fun 3 hours to spend in Cozumel! We had a wonderful time learning more about the mayan culture and food and enjoyed several courses during the process. Food was absolutely delicious and the staff worked so very hard to make sure we all had a great culinary experience. I highly recommend...one of my favorite all time experiences in Cozumel.

This tour was fantastic. It was hands on, educational, fun and delicious. There were many courses of food and we were so full when we left. All of us totally loved it. And the venue was beautiful. The presenter was fabulous and they even had an educational video. Don’t miss out on this great experience

Mayan Culinary Experience

The cooking class at Ix Kool was amazing. Our guide through the cuisine and history was Alex and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. He made sure to connect the traditions of the cooking to current and past dishes. Excellent way to spend time in Cozumel if you want something out of the water and away from the beach.
