Overview

Back Bay is one of Boston's most beautiful neighborhoods and a city planning masterclass that illustrates American architecture's changing tastes and stylistic evolution throughout the mid-to-late 19th and early 20th centuries. It's also home to excellent chocolate vendors and gorgeous art galleries. The group will have chocolate tastings at four locations while visiting two art galleries to see why Back Bay is an essential Boston neighborhood. During this tour, we'll taste the following: -Hot chocolate from one of the pioneers of America's artisanal chocolate industry -Cookies from a legendary New York City bakery that's expanded into Boston -Cupcakes from a delightful Newbury St dessert shop -Chocolate hazelnut cake bites from a three-story Italian goods market We'll also visit two art galleries: -A contemporary gallery showcasing local and global talent -Another gallery featuring 50 artists, including ceramics, paintings, photographs, mobiles, works on paper, and sculpture

I've been in the Boston area for over 4 years and this was the perfect tour! I went with a few friends and we had a blast. Adam's tour included history of the Back Bay area, architecture and each establishment's origin story. I knew I would love the chocolate part of this tour and I've always enjoyed art, but these galleries stole the show! Each gallery had different art mediums including pottery, paintings, drawings, sculptures and unique abstract pieces of art. Adam had a great repertoire with the Gallerist and they were available if we had any specific questions about a piece of work. One of the galleries continuously rotates artist's exhibits from all over the world and they also had well known pieces like a Rembrandt drawing! Another is almost like walking through a maze of art constantly grabbing your attention. A little bonus was that we strolled by the Boston's Women Memorial near Newbury Street. These are places I would have probably never come across despite roaming around that area many times before. Now the chocolate treats were top tier. We had the richest hot chocolate in one of the fanciest chocolate stores. We had the cutest and most "punny" cupcakes from a spot that originated in Cape Cod. I was most excited for the tik tok viral cookies (there was a vegan option too!). We learned that many of these places were women owned businesses which was cool! We ended the trip at the Prudential Center, and it truly was a great experience. You get a lot from this tour and the walk was lovely! We could tell it was well organized, but didn't feel rushed at all. Adam answered all of our questions and was very kind! I would 100% recommend Up and Adam food tours, they guy knows his stuff! :)

Delicious Tour

Adam was a really knowledgable host and took us all over the back bay which we had previously not explored. He had great food and art recommendations with things to do and see around the city.

The Best of Both Worlds

Adam is a wonderful guide and created such a warm and friendly environment! This tour is truly something unique as far as Boston food tours go. This tour combines two of my favorite things: sweets & art!! Couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend my afternoon!!
