Overview

Visit Anthony Hunte's masterpiece garden. This garden is one that many well travelled people say is their favorite in the world and many more calling it the most enchanted place on earth. After a unforgettable visit to Hunte’s gardens we will make our way to Barbados’s very own surfers paradise “Bathsheba” Bathsheba is situated on the East Coast of Barbados and is well known for its pounding surf. Leaving Bathsheba we will make our way up to Cherry Tree Hill and St Nicholas Abbey. Nicholas Abbey. This Plantation House is likely the last remaining authentic house of the 17th Century that exists anywhere in the "New World". The Plantation produces award winning rum and they are always delighted to offer you a sample. Please ensure that you choose the option you wish at the time of booking. At St Nicholas Abbey there is the choice of doing the House or Heritage Railway tour or doing both but this option must be selected at the time of booking.

    St Nicholas Abbey is located in Saint Peter, Barbados, and is a plantation house, museum and rum distillery.Colonel Benjamin Berringer built the house in 1658. This house is one of only three genuine Jacobean mansions in the Western Hemisphere. It's similar to the English Jacobean-era manor houses of the first half of the seventeenth century, the period between the Tudor and Georgian styles, beginning in the reign of James I. Beautiful hidden gems of Barbados

This was a great tour! As repeat visitors to Barbados we were looking for something different and this tour was excellent. Lisa was a wealth of knowledge about the island. First we went to St Nicholas Abbey working sugar cane plantation producing rum and unique liqueurs. January-May you can watch them processing the sugar cane up close like they have for hundreds of years. You also tour the house, watch a video and do a rum tasting. Then we rode the steam train out to a beautiful look-out spot. Our next stops were Bathsheba rocks along the coast and the only remaining intact windmill. Last we went to Hunte’s garden for an hour. The garden was probably the most beautiful and peaceful of any garden we have ever seen. Definitely a must-do. They do serve drinks and snacks- you may just need to ask at the gift shop.

Calvin is the man! We got picked up on time, had a very clean and well maintained vehicle, and got so much great information about the island throughout the drive. Hunte's Gardens is beautiful and I would highly recommend getting some of their ginger lemonade before you leave. The distillery was fun and the guide there was also lovely. Good rum, but the highlight was the train for sure!

Really great trip. Driver Nareen is super friendly and arrived 5 mins early but I was ready to go. Nice comfortable vehicle with air con. Plantation house tour was great. Also rode the railway steam train, very friendly guys manage that. Rum tasting was good and I needed a sip of water midway. Stopped at Bathsheba to take some photos. Had a tasty lunch after the plantation tour. Mount Gay rum tasting was different and I really learnt about the different processes for making different rums. All in all a great day out.

The missus and i took a day tour of the wildlife reserve (green monkeys, many, many tortoises), st Nicholas abbey (we did the train tour up to cherry tree hill, lovely views), lunch (v.tasty) then Hunters garden (gorgeous, i could have spent days there). Our driver Gline was amazing the whole day. He was funny, very informative about the islands people and its history, kept the aircon in the van cranked to the max ( which i really needed, weather was amazing). Great person to chat too, put me at ease ( im quite anxious/not great with people). As someone who doesnt travel much and is quite nervous it could have been a stressful day but Gline made it all really simple, stressfree and fun. Only spent about 6 hours with the guy but i actually miss him now im home.

More than just a tour.

Had a wonderful day, learned so much about Barbados from Glyne. He was a wonderful driver with so much knowledge and we learned alot about Barnados that we didn't know and was very interesting.
