We take you on a truly unique adventure where the Storms River is at its widest. Tube, walk SUP through stunning Tsitsikamma landscape The exquisite excursion on fresh drinkable water takes roughly 3hrs and presents the perfect opportunity to try your hand at river tubing and paddle-boarding This Trip Includes indigenous jungle drives, remote flatwater paddling scenic walks and lots of fun

Itinerary

This is an easy 3hr entry level activity for the whole family (Tube paddling, optional jumps, river bed walking, Stand Up Paddle boarding S.U.P. swimming) and lots of fun in unique untold scenery The Green Route Tubing & S.U.P. Combo gets you into remote unexplored sections of the Plaatbos Indigenous forest Nature Reserve. The3hr activity begins in Storms River Village at Tube 'n Axe Lodge with a welcome, orientation briefing and 30min kit up. A 20min drive though thick indigenous forest gets us to our drop off point where each participant receives his/her own tube. From here its a short 100m walk to rivers edge at the low water bridge in the old Storms River Pass. A final few do's and don'ts and safety demonstrations conclude the formalities and we set off on a flat water upstream paddle into the calm of the Plaatbos Indigenous Forest Nature Reserve. In the first 100m you'll get to try your nerves on a 6m high optional rock jump... don't worry, for those not so daring there re lower alternatives. Satisfied with the jumps, we paddle across the pool to a sandy beach where we get out and walk up 250m of rocky river bed with our Tubes to where our next challenge awaits... SUP's...

Stunning tubing trip through the canyon

I did the red route. After a safety briefing you have a scenic drive to the start of the route and then carry your equipment through the forest to the start of the canyon. The tubing was incredible and you get to go all the way out to the ocean! Can't describe how beautiful the canyon was. We were a group of 4 and were expertly guided by Ross and Luke, they have great knowledge of the area and I felt safe and had a lot of fun. Some optional cliff jumps really add to the experience. Would highly recommend.

Magical experience!

One of the best experiences so far in the beautiful South Africa! You drive through this ancient forest to get to the river down in the valley. Theres no-one else around and you are surrounded by the most beautiful trees as you make your way down the river. We felt safe the entire tour and the guides were super professional and friendly. We felt so refreshed and the best thing we didn't have any phones or need any camera cause they send you a video and photos. We could just enjoy the experience in nature. Afterwards we sat at the restaurant around the fire and then in one of the hot tubs they have! What a place, what an adventure. Altamente recomendado! :)

Fun outing on the River

We were travelling the garden route and looking for fun and out of the ordinary things to do. We enjoy water sports so this was a natural fit. We had fun floating along and paddling I. The tubes and SUPping. Two of us rented wetsuits and two did not. Didn’t find them essential for warmth but good for protection against the rocks and branches. Only one of us was brave enough for the cliff jump - woo hoo!
