Overview

Enjoy the beautiful Cartago Province with this private tour. Visit the Summit of the Irazu Volcano, the second highest summit of Costa Rica. Learn about its history and past intense volcanic activity. After it, enjoy the beautiful countryside and the Orosi Valley with it emblematic Iglesia de San Jose de Orosi, which was built in 1743 and is the oldest church in the country still in use today. The church's whitewashed walls and classic Spanish-colonial architecture are a testament to the long hours and artistic dedication that went into this church's design. Continuing the journey, you will visit Las Ruinas de Ujarras. The Spanish colonial church was built between 1575 and 1580. Today, the ruins are surrounded by a beautiful garden and it is a perfect place for learning about the spanish settlements. Cachi Lake and them La Basilica de Los Angeles are part of this cultural tour.

Terrific guide, wonderful day, beautiful views

We had a great day with Luis, who really personalized the experience for us and made it a rewarding and educational experience. We learned a lot about Costa Rican history and there was spectacular views throughout the day and we also enjoyed a delicious lunch at Rancho Orosi.

Laid back, Educational, Scenic Tour.

Once again we had a wonderful tour with Alberto. We went to the top of the 2nd highest volcano in Costa Rica, visited an old basillica and some old ruins, saw the beautiful Orosi Valley and had a great lunch in Orosi. Alberto taught us some more Spanish words and stopped often for us to take photos. This was an educational and laid back tour. Just what we needed on our last day here.
