Overview

Chocolate Bar Making York is home to some of the world's most famous chocolate bars. Join us in our academy and learn how to create your very own chocolate bar. You will discover our cocoa origins, we will show you how to temper chocolate, and you will experiment with different flavours to perfect your masterpiece! Once the bars have set, you will package your creations to be enjoyed at home. Who is it suitable for? Perfect for chocolate lovers of all ages and abilities who want to learn more of the secrets to create their own gorgeous chocolates at home. Please note that we recommend that children under 13 years accompanied by a full paying adult participant Please note: During this workshop participants are able to work with their own choice of chocolate and ingredients. This workshop is suitable for participants with special dietary requirements, but please do contact our team for any specific needs.

During the workshop you will: Learn how we manufacture our chocolate here at York Cocoa Works before learning how to design and create your own chocolate bar before beautifully wrapping your chocolate creation to take away with you

The man taking the session was really fun & knowledgeable. We have been to other chocolate experiences but liked how this gave brief overview of history, where chocolate is made & how, including, farmers welfare & good & not so good practices of cocoa growing, marketing & the end product. This conjured all sorts of questions & he could answer them all without hesitation. Interesting to hear the role of small businesses such as this. Fascinating to hear the possibilities of chocolate including how they flavour such as beer. The experience of making the chocolate bars was a lot of fun for us as a family & we learnt a lot too! My teens loved it as did I. Great family time. People who work there are lovely!

Very well organised activity; well set up and managed. Great delivery from the ‘instructor’, and interesting information. Work-stations are well set out and spacious; hygiene is excellent. Aimed at children and adults. A fun , immersive activity, with step by step instructions. We tempered chocolate and made our own chocolate bar.
