Overview

A special pleasure to stroll through the city during the day or night, by narrow streets, which were not illuminated during the Middle Ages. The guest will feel the spirit of the Middle Ages in the dark streets of the city, which we will illuminate together with the lamps of that time. That's why the "Game of the Trons " have chosen Sibenik for your stage. Stroll through the tunnels, covered passages and holes of the city is a special delight.. The guest will see where there was a pillar of shame in Sibenik, where they fled the imposters from the medieval fair, where the nuns prayed for the city in the darned monastiries.. Guests will see what the light in the cathedral building was, how to greet the midnight 17th . December and why it rang all 72 bells of the city.. Through a night walk through the Sibenik streets, you will be guided by a specially trained guide for that part of Šibenik history. Daily tour is a same, but with more interesting details.

Only a few dozen meters from the Cathedral of St. Jakov, there is a plateau below which there used to be a public city cistern, ie an accumulation of water. It was built by the people of Šibenik due to frequent droughts, but also frequent military sieges. The construction contract was concluded in 1446, and the construction was supervised by the famous Juraj Dalmatinac, best known for the neighboring Cathedral. The cistern could hold 28,000 barrels of water, and a special tax was introduced to build it. On the plateau itself, ie its outer part, there are four wells, from which water could be pumped. The entire complex has been thoroughly renovated in recent years, so '4 wells' are today one of the most beautiful areas of Šibenik. In the underground, ie inside the complex there is an interesting cafe and wine bar. inside, guests will have the opportunity to see what the cistern looked like, the water filtration system and the 4 openings (crowns) through which fresh water was taken.
