Overview

This is an oasis of greenery and uncontaminated nature, where the Tiber opens up to form Lake Corbara. Moving by bike is in perfect harmony with the environment, the vegetation has remained intact for centuries. The territory is covered by oak and chestnut trees, centuries-old woods with constantly changing views. In the hilly areas there are vineyards, olive groves and chestnut trees. On the reliefs there are wild boars, fallow deer and roe deer. Numerous species of birds nest along the shores of Lake Corbara and Alviano, including the kingfisher, the peregrine falcon, the gray heron and the buzzard. We will go to admire two medieval castles, built above beautiful views, in places full of history and art. Finally we reach the Freddano estate, an extraordinary organic winery that we will visit among vineyards and olive trees, and then have an excellent tasting of the organic wines produced here together with platters of typical local products. This was an absolutely amazing experience!! Paolo was such a knowledgeable guide! Stopped in quaint towns and delighted in beautiful views! The bikes were well maintained. A lot of riding up and down hills, thank goodness for the electric bike booster.

Nice trip around the countryside with stunning landscapes

This was a wonderful day trip to the Titigano castle, with a stunning view onto the Corbara lake (and another viewpoint at La Roccaccia castle). Tour guide Riccardo and tour organizer Paolo were very helpful during the trip and put all the efforts to make it exciting. I was traveling alone, and Paolo had no problem with setting up a tour just for myself about 5 days before the trip. It is possible to take the tour while traveling from Rome to Florence by train. Note that there are some steep descents with a rocky surface on the way.
