Itinerary

Famagusta Viewpoint

Start by visiting Derynia village and the Viewpoint of Famagusta. Here you will be introduced to how was life in Famagusta including the varoshia tourist area before the Turkish invasion in 1974. Please note, full and only guiding will take place at the Famagusta Viewpoint prior to entering the north.

Famagusta Walled City

we will drive towards the check-point where we will cross into the North of the island, occupied by the Turkish army, and then pass by the ‘ghost city’ were no visitors are allowed to enter. Furthermore we will explore the old city with its amazing Venetian walls, take photos, shop around or relax and have a coffee. You may also visit the Othello Tower and from the top take amazing photos.

Blue Lagoon

We will make our way towards the beautiful beaches of the East, where we will board our cruise boat and sail along the coastline taking in the views of the various coves and sea caves. Our next stop, one of the highlights of the trip is at the bluest bay, the ‘Blue Lagoon. Famous for its crystal-clear waters here you will be able to relax, swim or snorkel. Snorkelling equipment is provided on board free of charge. During this picturesque and memorable cruise, we will have the opportunity to stop for another swim. A delicious lunch prepared by our chef accompanied by a complimentary local drink will be served on board. Please note, No guiding will take place on board the boat during the cruise. Adverse weather conditions and/or other factors beyond our control may cause the cancellation of the second part of the excursion which includes the boat trip and lunch. In this rare instance, guests will be compensated with €28.00 per adult and €15.00 per child.

For the minors travelling with only one parent or in the care of friends or relatives a consent letter should be used for a cross-border travel.

I really recommend this tour! George Michael was very accommodating and very knowledgeable about Famagusta! As a solo traveller he made me feel very welcome on the trip and kept checking in. The jeep ride was very fun and interesting once in Famagusta with some time to look around the old town. Then you get to go onto a boat cruise to 2 swimming spots where the water is clear and warm as well as having a BBQ on the boat.

George Michael explain the history of Cyprus so well that I felt I understand where we were going what we were looking at, the people, the places, the history, the political issues. Then we were all able pivot to having a great time on the boat. George Michael is a asset to your company. He's pretty good looking too :)

Early start with our guide George Michael (yes !), on time and warm welcome. 10 of us on the Land-rover. George was a great guide and very passionate and knowledgeable about his home country. After a short journey picking up passengers on the way we passed into the illegally occupied area of northern Cyprus to the town of Famagusta. Very interesting town (but also very sad) with plenty of time to look around. Then back across the border to board the cruise ship. On board there was plenty of space to relax and 2 stops for swimming. Lunch was a BBQ with salads, plenty to eat and good quality for a tour lunch. After a couple of hours we headed back to port and back onto the Jeep for the journey home. George took us on a detour to show us some extra sights, all with the accompanying soundtrack of George’s namesake! Would highly recommend this tour.

Best experience in Cyprus. We have George Michael as our guide and he make the trip better. He is funny and passionate about this country. We remain with a lot of information from him: ancient history, modern facts, good places to eat and a very good host for whole trip. I invite everyone to take this trip and enjoy a good day in Cyprus.
