Itinerary

Day 1.- We will visit the splendid archaeological site of Yaxunah, as well as the beautiful Sisbic Kaab botanical garden and the Kax Ek cenote. Day 2.- Tour of the Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve, to see the birds of the coast and the mangroves.

Super cool birding experience

The trip was amazing. Ichi was a very good professional guide who certainly knows all about birds. I contacted him about a big day and we ended up seeing 120 birds in one day! Highly recommend contacting him directly. He was helpful and accommodating when planning for the trip and discussing budgets.

A peak at things otherwise not seen

Ichi was an excellent guide. He knows the area like the back of his hand (and the locals know him very well too!). He was able to quickly adjust to any requests that we had and gave us an excellent trip as the photos show! Will definitely be going with him again if I am around the area.

Highly recommended experience for birders in Yucatan

I had a very enjoyable and rewarding morning spent with Ismael on my tour. The instructions provided in the tour description and after I had booked the tour were very clear, and I'm glad that he was able to go ahead with the tour even though I was the only one. He is extremely knowledgeable on the local birdlife (and other wildlife too) and was well equipped with all you need to have a great time if you love birding.

Fantastic birding with an excellent guide

We spent 2 fantastic days birding with Ichi in various areas near Valladolid. He is an excellent guide, spotting and identifying birds by both sight and sound. Ichi is also knowledgeable about wildlife and reptiles of the region. He is personable and passionate about the rich ecology and Mayan culture of the region. Although we have birded in the region before, we saw many new birds and birds endemic to the Yucatán. One day we went to Coba, so we had the double benefit of great birding (before the bus tours arrived!) and seeing the Mayan archeological ruins. After another morning birding in a nature reserve, we birded and then cooled off in a beautiful community-managed Cenote. Highly recommended for experienced and novice birders.

we have taken a tour with señor Ichi and it was quite the experience. señor Ichi prepared cofee and breakfast. We took the bus to the bush and got out. Ichi has a unique gift of luring birds. With sounds of is own making and with use of his phone and speaker birds come to him. At first i thougt it was luck or nonsense, but he showed us witch bird he wanted to lure, and wouldn't you know, they came. The most bright and calourfull species you can imagene. He can distinguish all the variaties of hummingbirds and is skilled in searching for snakes and other Raptiles. In the tour you also pass some maya villages. Señor Ichi knows the people here and that makes it easy to get in contact. We had some fun encouters. We finished with a nice meal in a popular local restaurant.
