Itinerary

Explore the canyons of Benahavís on a canyoning adventure just 15 minutes from Marbella. Swim in natural pools, tackle obstacles, and feel the excitement of jumping from cliffs into the water. This unique beginner-level canyoning activity (also known as the Benahavís River Walk) offers the perfect opportunity to explore the stunning Spanish outdoors, combining both hiking and swimming in a breathtaking river setting. With slopes, caves, deep waters, cliffs, and loose stones, the course is certainly challenging. The water temperature is currently 18 degrees in January, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience throughout the adventure. However, the unbelievable beauty of the area and fun experience will make it all worth it. It takes 2 to 3 hours to complete the 3 kilometers long trail. This activity is perfect for adventurers aged 8 to 65, making it a fantastic family experience. By booking a guided tour, you will be accompanied by an experienced English-speaking guide. The guide will take care of any needed safety equipment and help you through the tricky parts of the trail. Additionally, some of our guides also speak Dutch, Spanish, and Hungarian.

  • Participants need to be 8 years or older
  • Please keep in mind that you cannot bring anything with you during the tour, as you will be going into the water. Everything needs to be left behind in the car. We strongly recommend bringing as little as possible with you, as car break-ins can unfortunately happen at this parking area. If you don’t come by car, you can leave small items in the guide’s car at your own risk. The guide will bring a camera to take photos and a waterproof tube for everyone’s car keys.
  • We recommend to wear your own sport shoes as these have more grip than our water shoes

I had never heard of canyoning when I read about this tour, but once I saw the pictures I knew we’d love it, and we did! Martin was a fabulous guide easily relaying instructions in multiple languages and able to visit and keep us all safe and on course along the way. I’d definitely recommend using the wet suits as you slide down rocks and the suits keep you from being scratched. Definitely take the jumps and stop to enjoy the views. Such a fun activity and I’d say a perfect excursion for families with teens and college age children. Definitely 2 thumbs up!

Myself and my sister had a great experience on our first canyoning adventure. It was both challenging and fun to do. We had a great guide, Martin from Marbella Adventures, and he made sure we were all well informed safety wise and he was very reassuring and encouraging too. Everyone had a choice if they wanted to do the jumps and we got great photos from the Martin at the end of the day. Highly recommend this river walk/swim.

The river walk was great. Good guidance and fun to experience. If you can swim and are good on your feet you will have a great time during the walk and afterwards to process the experience and tell others what you have experienced.
