Overview

Experience the sheer joy of riding a Segway as you 'glide' effortlessly to the summit of Mt.Victoria the highest volcanic cone on Auckland's North Shore. Your tour guide will tell you the secrets of the mountain and the iconic mushrooms as you enjoy the spectacular close up 360 degree views of Auckland City and the Hauraki Gulf. You'll have ridden through the back street of the village to admire the beautifully restored Victorian Villas, past beaches and through parks on your way to the mountain. With a maximum of 6 people per tour your guide will spend one to one time with you teaching you to ride a Segway and you'll have plenty of time to practice before you leave on the tour. Every day of the week you have 3 scheduled times to choose from in the Summer and 2 scheduled times in the Winter months. Being a small historic seaside village with stunning views, a quiet charming atmosphere and lots of open spaces it's one of the best locations anywhere in the world for a Segway Tour.

Meeting points

Our Office is located inside the Devonport Ferry Terminal at the end of the terminal where all the ferries come and go to Auckland City. The Officeis sometimes in darkness but we do still operate from there.

  • Not recommended for pregnant women.
  • A small amount of walking is involved on the North Head Tour.
  • Not recommended for people who are not agile enough to climb stairs unaided.
  • Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately.
  • If canceled due to extreme weather conditions that make it unsafe to ride a Segway, you will be given the option of an alternative date or refund Less administration fee.
  • All participants weights MUST be between 35kgs - 120kgs (75lbs - 265lbs)

You Must Do This

Incredible experience! You should definitely do this excursion. Pauline has been doing this for 16 years and she is the best. It was my first Segway but it was easy to master. She was cognizant of our safety and even rode tandem with my friend (held her Segway when they went up hill).

This little tour was the perfect introduction to Devonport. The tour guide (and owner) Pauline was very warm and friendly and very knowledgeable on the local area. She made sure I (first time on a segway) was feeling confident on the segway before heading off on the tour. Segways are a fantastic way to see the city and were easier to ride than I was expecting. The city was lovely and the views from the top of Mount Victoria are stunning. There is no way I could have made it to the top on foot, so this was the perfect way to get there. Highly recommend taking this tour!

We had an amazing tour guide who shared alot of history of the Devonport area. She gave clear, easy to follow instructions for familiarising us with the Segways. The stops along the way were great for photos and the view from the top of Maungaiuka (Mt Victoria) were fantastic.
