Amazing Experience with Rain Forest Explorers!

Published on Feb, 2025

We had an unforgettable time with Rain Forest Explorers on the Waterfall swim and Volcano hike, and our guide, Isaac, made it even better! Waterfall/Lunch: We kicked things off at the waterfall, where the views were stunning, and we had time to swim and change. Afterward, we had lunch at a private restaurant specifically for those that book this tour, which was not only beautifully presented but also delicious. I went with the chicken, which I highly recommend, but they also offered a fish and vegetarian option that looked just as appetizing. They served hibiscus juice and coffee too, and even gave us dessert! And while the banana bread/bread pudding hybrid was not my favorite, it was still a nice addition! The lunch spot also had an amazing view, and we even got to watch birds feeding nearby while we ate. Volcano Hike: The volcano hike was an incredible experience, made even better by Isaac’s impressive knowledge of the history, wildlife, plants, and trees. He explained everything so clearly and in such an engaging way that we didn’t want it to end. He was also insanely impressive at spotting wildlife and plants that we would have completely missed (and from crazy distances, too!), and his genuine excitement to share these discoveries made the experience even more enjoyable. We would even stop along the drive if he spotted something awesome! Isaac didn’t just have keen eyes for nature, but for photography as well. He helped capture amazing photos for us, always making sure to get the perfect shot, and was happy to help anyone else we saw along the trail as well. It was also clear that he has a deep passion for the environment as he spotted and cleaned up trash along the trail. We were also provided with walking sticks, plenty of water, and even bug spray when I realized I forgot mine! We were kept on track with the schedule but we never felt rushed. There was plenty of time to enjoy the hike and take in the stunning views. Overall, the day was absolutely perfect. If you’re looking for an adventure that’s fun, informative, and full of heart, this is it. Highly recommend!

The best at guiding through the rainforest

Jaime was our driver who was very safe and knowledgeable about the surroundings as well as helping Mauricio with finding wildlife sights. Mauricio is a very knowledgeable naturalist guide who could spot many wildlife sights that we couldn’t see. He takes pride in his work and makes sure all of his clients are getting the most out of the tour. We would hire them again

Awesome day with Mau!

Published on Dec, 2024

Amazing day with Mau exploring La Fortuna waterfall and the base of Arenal volcano. Mau was super knowledgeable and friendly, always engaged and excited to share his expertise about the area and wildlife of Costa Rica with our group. We loved spending the morning playing in the cool clear water surrounding La Fortuna waterfall, and enjoyed the gorgeous views. The stairs up and down (500 in total) were a bit of a hike but our group managed and there were lots of spots to rest along the way. The restaurant next to the falls had ice cream for a post-hike treat and our group loved the virgin pina coladas. Lots of bathroom and changing areas as well. Next we went to an incredible lunch - super fresh and delicious casados, and delightful hibiscus lemonade - at a family farm in the countryside. Finally, we had a great time learning all about Arenal volcano from Mau, taking a nice hike up and back (~2km in total) and spotting two sloths along the way! Mau was also happy to indulge our interest in seeing any and all animals and we stopped multiple times along the way for sloth and monkey sightings - he had a very cool telescope to help zoom in and was able to photograph from these, sharing pictures with us after the tour! All in all, a 5 star experience that helped make our last day in La Fortuna incredibly memorable and enjoyable! Thanks Mau!

Excellent Experience

We did this hike with another family so a total of 8 people. Jason (guide) and Yohan (Driver) were absolutely amazing. After picking us up, Jason did a great job conveying expectations while on our way for the hike. Once in the park and on our way to the hike, Jason spotted spider monkeys in the tree. We were able to sit there and watch a family move essentially over the top of us. The hike was beautiful to see the crater. Next, we started the drive to lunch. On our way, we stopped along the highway and got to see a sloth in a tree that had just given birth to a baby. Using Jason's scope we could see some pretty amazing pictures. The lunch at the tour company was probably one of the best meals we had. Everything we had to eat there was very good and everyone that was working there was very friendly, asking how the tour was going, what did we see... Finally, was the hike to the waterfall. This was also very beautiful. We could not swim near the waterfall because the water was too rough, but the beauty was incredible to see. We would all highly recommend Jason and Yohan. Jason was very knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. Jason's knowledge of the area and the animals was second to none.

Great guide and wonderful to tour.

Our guide Tony was fantastic. We had rain on and off but Tony still made this a great experience for all of us. Lunch at the Rodriguez family restaurant was simply great, especially if you enjoy birdwatching while dining.
