Overview
Put yourself in control of a four-wheel quad bike. Challenge the terrain, with river crossings, mud, dust, dirt and excitement. This guided Quad Bike tour will show you some of the real back country New Zealand as you pass through farmland, sheep trails, rivers, sand and bush. You can ride on your own(subject to age restrictions) and your guide will give you the freedom to challenge yourself within the safety boundaries. Two hours of adventure in the beautiful natural mountain environment of Hanmer Springs.
Ride the rapids of the Waiau Gorge on a 2-hour rafting expedition of Hanmer Springs. Enjoy the thrills of the river and forests as you float downstream among swimming salmon and trout. This river is grade 2 so is relatively easy water and perfect for families.

Both Quad Bike and Rafting were exhilarating!
For the Quad Bike, the route was quite safe even if for a first timer and our guide Sam had guided us well and keeping us on track.
For the rafting, our guides Kylie and Nina are so knowledgeable in guiding us through the safety measures and making us feel safe even for some of us who are non-swimmer.
We had a fun experience riding the jet back!
Overall it was a great experience!

Great experience. We took our 4 year old jet boating and she had a blast. Customer service was good so much so we stopped a week later on our return at the cafe and the staff remembered how I took my tea.
We felt safe and they also provided waterproof jackets which was a big plus.

We did the rafting , 4 of us , 9 year son and 11 year old daughter, plus guide Tully , was awesome fun, Tully the guide was a crackup , jokes all the way , rafting not to extreme , cool views and fresh water , would do again

Awesome rafting trip with a spectacular jet boat finale. Tully was a great and entertaining kaiārahi/guide. River was high, but rapids not too intimidating, excellent for beginners and families.
Rafting the Waiau River

We had heeeeaps of fun white water rafting the Waiau river. Enjoyed the experience of a relaxing boat trip interspersed with the adrenaline rush of going through the rapids and getting a refreshing spray (it was a hot day). A small amount of jeopardy when we were enjoying swimming behind the raft and then we had to move towards the bank in time for a jet boat to dash past (we had plenty of time and weren't in any danger but it's something to be aware of). We had a long rafting trip then given a jet boat trip back. And even got to see someone bungy jump off the bridge. A memorable day, suitable for all the family (as long as the kids don't mind getting wet!)
