Itinerary

  • Agios Nikolaos

    The experience starts from Agios Nikolaos heading east with the Gulf of Mirabello on our left side. We go through Istron and the stunning beaches of Karavostasi, Agios Panteleimonas and Golden beach Voulisma and we arrive at the village of Kavousi.

  • Late Minoan Settlement of Azorias

    We continue uphill to the Minoan settlement of Azoria where the oldest olive tree in the world is located‼

  • Richtis Gorge

    We descend to the mouth of the mindboggling Richtis Gorge. We follow an amazing trail within the gorge and we reach the falls of Richtis. Wonderful images that they worth the effort of walking along the trail, which leads to a pebbled beach. The hike is very easy even for young children.

  • Tourloti

    On our way back, we stroll around the alleys of the picturesque village of Tourloti, a small, traditional village, the largest of a group of four, dotted across the hillsides in this area. It has changed little in the past few decades and remains untouched by tourism.

Nicholas was so knowledgeable and friendly. A great time was had by all. The food at the restaurant was delicious. We swam in the water at bottom of waterfall

I had an amazing day with Safari Crete Excursions, exploring the Richtis Gorge day, seeing the oldest Olive tree in the world, lunch in a traditional Crete restaurant with a breathtaking view. Our exceptional driver and guide, Nikos, made the day truly unforgettable. He is a beautiful human with an incredible heart, passionate about nature, and reminded us of how lucky we are to be surrounded by such a rich environment. Nikos's knowledge of plants is truly remarkable and added immense value to the experience. His kindness and big heart are beyond words. I commend him for his exceptional service. Highly recommend this tour! The entire day was magical, from pick up at our hotel to the late lunch at the best taverna. Richtis Gorge was a great hike. Christos was the perfect guide, making sure that we saw everything we wanted to. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!
