We attended an Indian cooking class at the Sita Cultural Centre in Pondicherry, and it was a fantastic experience. Our group of four had a private session where we began by planning the menu: chicken biryani, dal fry, and carrot halwa.
Our wonderful guide, Manisha, then took us to the local market, where she introduced us to the vendors, selected the vegetables, and explained the various lentils and spices as we gathered our ingredients.
After returning to the cultural centre by auto (tuk tuk), we began preparing the vegetables and cooking. It wasn't a formal training session, but rather an incredible, hands-on introduction to Indian cuisine and flavors. Manisha walked us through the spices and showed us how to recreate the dishes at home.
The three hours flew by, and the meal was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend this class for anyone looking for a fun, authentic cooking experience in India!
