Overview

We are local with plenty of Northern stories to share. Our tours are small and the cabin is warm and cozy. We offer a great light midnight lunch that includes hot bannock and local fish chowder. Coffee and several varieties of teas including northern teas. teas is included, you are invited to bring a beverage of your choice such as champagne to celebrate under the aurora. We have fun Northern clothing to dress up for photo ops. Small groups can book entire cabin for private use. We just returned from a four day/three night tour in Yellowknife, NWT. The package included three nights of viewing the Northern Lights, weather permitting, with three different tour groups. Cozy Cabin Bucket List was by far the best of the bunch. The moment we arrived at the parking area we were greeted by hostess extraordinaire Tracy, who led us through the woods to a wonderful little cabin that was indeed, cozy. Once inside we were treated to a big bowl of excellent homemade (by Tracy) chowder and delightful bannock cooked right there in the cabin. We then got to pick a fur coat to wear if we so chose. Believe me, the coats were welcome as the temps that night were well below zero. There were boots available too if you needed a pair. Last but not least, we were lucky to receive a beautiful visit by Aurora, as she is known in the North. It was a lovely clear night and the area around the cabin was an outstanding spot to witness this spectacular show. We took plenty of pictures of our own, but Sim, the bus driver, server, dishwasher, and all-around jack of all trades, was an excellent photographer who stood our in the cold taking everyone's pictures with the lights in the background. All in all, whether Aurora shows up or not, it is a wonderful experience thanks to the friendly hospitality of Tracy and Sim. Highly recommend.

Magical Mystery Tour

We now refer to this as our "Magical Mystery Tour". WHAT A SHOW we were privileged to see on our tour night (2/1/25). Besides being treated by Mother Nature to bright, beautiful and crazy Auroras, our hostess, Tracy, created a warm, delightful experience between shows. Her little cabin became our "home" for the evening...and thank goodness for that. We had an extremely cold night for our tour into the countryside. Sim was a wonderful driver, helper and photographer! He took realistic photos for us that show exactly what we were seeing. Besides a delicious and MUCH appreciated midnight lunch of hot chowder and freshly baked bread, we had use of their tripods, and funky fur coats (like Grandma used to wear) to add a layer of warmth while outside. We highly recommend this tour as a MUST DO while in Yellowknife. We are very grateful for Tracy and Sim and the extraordinary experience they offered us!

This really is an experience to cross off the bucket list. We were so lucky to book on a night where it was cold enough to see the aurora. It also happened to be a lightly booked night so the entire experience was more intimate than usual. Tracy kept us entertained with wonderful stories about the Northwest Territories. She kept is well fed with the fish chowder and bannock. Even our teenaged boys had a wonderful time. Lately it is really hit or miss on whether they enjoy excursions. We were fortunate to stumble upon the Cozy Cabin. Thanks for your hospitality, Tracy!

Tracey makes the best chowder and bannock. Her cabin is so cute, wonderful views and she knows so much about the area. She was very helpful in showing us how to take our own photos and at the same time our driver was taking photos that were shared with us that very evening. It was a once in a lifetime experience and the lights were so beautiful out on the property.
