Overview

lab·​o·​ra·​to·​ry | \ ˈla-b(ə-)rə-ˌtȯr-ē A place providing opportunity for experimentation, observation, or practice in a field of study. This is an ever-changing and high concept cocktail workshop (aka. laboratory) for those with 0 to 100 levels of experience. Unconventional, not a class; learn through experimentation! You get to take risks in this lab that you wouldn't normally take at home with hundreds of ingredients at your fingertips. Tools include smoking gun, test tubes, shaker sets, etc. It is my goal as your host to work with each of you and fine-tune each event to fit your individual mixology goals. By design, any awkwardness and negative judgement is kicked out the door in order for the madness to ensue!

Itinerary

We do gift certificates1 Reach out to us directly for this service. Look forward to a most unique, fun, engaging and enriching time up in the Greenfire Loft inside Melrose Market. This Cocktail and/or Mocktail Lab experience happens on a limited basis. If you have a specific date in mind please reach out to me and I'll see if I can make it happen. This experience has no dress code. As soon as you enter, you'll be handed a lab coat -- perfect as a pre-funk to your night out on the town. Also, feel free to just lounge around [drink in hand] in one of the comfy wing-backed chairs and enjoy the ambiance of being perched above many award-winning businesses. I will begin the lab by introducing you to all the tools and ingredients available. Cocktail and mocktail recipes will offer a starting point. As you take off on your own concocting direction, guidance is available. This is not necessarily a cocktail class or mocktail class; more of a laboratory where you get to experiment. Hands-on style of workshop! Up to each guest over age 21 if they want to add alcohol to their drinks or keep it non-alcoholic.

The eye opening drink experience

How do you make something as old as cocktail creations so fresh and new! A fantastic usage of space with an even superior sense for human, this experience is one and a million. I learned more about what kind of spirits I’m fond of, made a new friend, and learned most importantly what doesn’t blend well with what I like.

We had such a great time last night creating fun cocktails. It’s such a cute, quaint environment with everything available for you to experiment with. Our hostess was knowledgeable, fun and gave us the latitude to pretty much make anything that we wanted to with what was there. It was a great date night!

What a fun family and friends group experience! I loved experimenting with Mocktail recipes but the rest of our group had fun pretending to be bartenders concocting cocktails. We were an intergenerational group of all ages and it is hard to find an activity in the heart of Seattle that gives everyone a great time and still allows for conversation and collaboration. Jen stocks the bar well and there is no recipe she can't help create with a little imagination. I highly recommend this fun laboratory in a great neighborhood.
