Every morning, before the sun is up; as the street lamps of Calcutta go off, we start the Magic hour tour to watch Calcutta Wake up. We hop on to the first bus of the day from the oldest neighborhood of Calcutta as the city enters the enchanting Magic Hour. Meandering through the sleepy 300 year locality in full throttle ,the next few hours are spent visiting the oldest areas of Calcutta. Before the bustling giant city wakes up we’d have used all the iconic modes of transport, had breakfast in a century old hidden spot, gossiped about Calcutta like a Local, talked about its history, anthropology and fallen desperately in Love with the city. The “unguided tour” as we call it starts with Chai (tea) in a bhaad (earthen cups) and finishes with traditional Bengali breakfast, the best sweets of Calcutta. Exceptional tour not to be missed

We are experienced travellers and this tour far outweighs any of our other experiences. Soham has a passion for Kolkata which makes his tour exceptional. He is kind and friendly and showed us Kolkata through the eyes of a local. We could not have been more thrilled from start to finish despite the early wake-up call. Do not hesitate to book this tour. Kolkata is literally asleep when this tour starts and Soham will show you all the special places, giving you insights and background information you would never get from anyone else. You'll experience the city waking up. The tour is extraordinary, you might even get to have a little chat with the horse mounted police. Fabulous walking tour - do it!

This walking tour has it all and was so worth the early start! We journeyed together from early mists on the maiden, to the vibrant colour of the flower market, exploring tranquil ghats and fascinating alleyways of Kumartali. Soham has carefully curated and timed this morning tour to showcase different facets of his city; we hopped on and off buses, yellow taxis, a ferry and and a Tuk tuk and tried a myriad of different street foods to experience Kolkata with all our senses. Soham brought everything to life with anecdotes, so that we learnt lots while having so much fun! The icing on the cake was lots of beautiful photos sent after the tour. Thank you Soham!
