A night walk into Tortuguero open trails where you can spot mostly snakes and different frogs species. Also you have chance to see some mammals like opossums, sloths, lizards and tamanduas, it's an amazing experience to walk into the forest at night looking for different animals and plants wich make this place a real treasure for the visitors.

Night tour well worth it!

Our guide Bernie was incredibly knowledgable. The night tour was terrific. Saw 6 sloths and 1 baby, numerous snakes, birds, lizards of all kinds, and monkeys. Highly recommend.

Personalised and fab night tour

Danny arranged our own guide and even paid our boat taxi over from Pachira Lodge hotel as it was our 2nd tour with him. We had a personal an exclusive tour with a local guide whose English was excellent and was as passionate as us. Take lots of mosquito spray and waterproof boots if going in wet season. It was hot, steamy and worth every minute as well as the money.

Great experience!

Our guide was named Brendan, who was clearly well experienced. Small group with 4 people. Brendan tried to show us as many types of animals as possible. He did not just stay on the main road but really went into the jungle. Whenever we saw an animal, it was always accompanied by an explanation of the animal itself. Brendan works together with several other people, who tip each other off when they have spotted an animal themselves. This way you are guaranteed to see lots of animals! The hike took a total of 2h to 2h30.

Incredible night Walk right behind the village of Barra del Tortuguero. Highly recommended to spot endemic wildlife!
