Overview

Known for its art, each wall in Midtown tells a story. Midtown Sacramento is a most vibrant part of the city! Among other things, tour guests will learn the intriguing history of murals in the city, while experiencing Sacramento’s current art scene. Guests will also try dishes from some of midtown’s finest menus, in an area of the city that has exploded with restaurants in recent years. Along the way, we’ll pop into venues with farm-to-fork ingredients and farm-to-glass libations, all sure to tantalize your palate while filling your belly. Our culinary concierge will guide the group in and out of eateries while pointing out the sights and sounds of midtown in between. Local Roots Food Tours limits the group size of each tour to no more than 14 individuals. Special dietary needs can be met with prior notice. Senior, military, and children discounts are available.

Meeting points

Our Midtown Arts Tour will be launched at the center stage of the MARRS District, Midtown, Sacramento. You will find Center Stage right next to Comedy Spot - between J and K Streets on 20th Street. The stage is located in the center of the strip building. 1050 20th St, Sacramento, CA 95811. Tour guide will be waiting on the stage 10 minutes prior to tour launch. Please call 1-800-407-8918 if you see you are running late or find yourself lost and need directions prior to the tour launch time. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the tour start time. Public parking is available throughout Midtown - many economy parking lots. We recommend bringing cash ($5 bills) and quarters if you choose to pay by meter. A couple recommended parking lots to try and see if there is availability are: 1116 20th Street ($5 parking) and 1901 L Street. There is also 4 hour meter parking down 20th (between I and H streets). Great tour but suggestion for updating description

Dawnie was a great guide and an overall ambassador of Sacramento. She was so knowledgeable about the food and the city and was very personable. The food selections at each stop were great. Overall, I rated the tour five stars because we liked her and had a great time. For the benefit of future guests, I would suggest that the tour description and highlights be updated. Both the description and highlights section mentioned visiting and exploring galleries, which we did not. We did walk around the city and viewed murals on painted on buildings. It also mentions that wine tasting is included. While we did have beverages at each of the five stops, only one stop included the choice of an alcoholic beverage. Again, we enjoyed the tour but were expecting to visit galleries and have wine tastings.
