Great River Road

Meet at the departure point at 9:30 am. Then, travel to and fro along the Great River Road in a climate controlled mini bus with air suspension for a comfortable ride.

Laura Plantation: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site

Laura, A Creole Plantation has a rich and unique history, from the home itself to the women that ran it. Uniquely enough, the plantation is now named after one of those very women. You will get to tour this over 200 year old sugarcane plantation. This tour will include a walk through of the main house as well as the slave quarters.

Oak Alley Plantation

Oak Alley is an antebellum plantation known for its stunning 300 year old alley of oak trees. This plantation was built in 1839 and faces the Mississippi river. These unique tree formations and the beautiful grounds in combination with the colorful history make this a must see destination while you are in New Orleans. After both locations have been visited you will be dropped off back in downtown New Orleans locations.

Great tour of two plantations

Enjoyable visit of two different plantations. One, Creole style (Laura) and the other, American style (Oak Alley). Definitely recommend this tour. Bus driver was also great.

This was a great combination & we learned a lot! Our bus driver, Steve (Cajun Encounters Tour Company), was informative as well as entertaining! He let us know that since we're doing both tours, we won't have time for the restaurant for lunch, but said the deli was great (he was right)! He was even nice enough to drop us off closer to our hotel, being the last 2 passengers! I did separate reviews of the plantations.

A wonderful experience diving into the old south. Laura Plantation tour is a must see if you want a true historical eco. Wear comfortable footwear & bring a bottle of water.

Nice trip! I really appreciate the guide tour in Laura’s. The guide is knowledgeable and has a critical understanding of Civil War and slavery history.
