You can definitely believe the glowing comments already made here about Dave's Flexi-tours of Kruger plus the absolutely gorgeous country along the Blyde River Canyon. A short time into the first day Dave seemed like an old friend--a superbly knowledgeable old friend. He picked us up in Nelspruit at 4:30 a.m. to make sure we entered the Park when it opened at 6, making sure we had the best opportunity to observe many of the Park's beautiful creatures. After 1 1/2 days we had taken photos of over 25 species, some only a few yards away--elephants ambling alongside us, giraffes with their heads in trees, rhinos, zebras, etc. While Dave stayed at the Park cabins (where we were to sleep for the night) to prepare a delicious barbeque for us, we took a night ride with a Park employee and observed a lion pair calmly on the hunt for their warthog dinner and a leopard feasting on an impala in a nearby tree. After leaving the park we headed to the spectacular Blyde River Canyon area followed by a super lunch at Harris's Pancakes and a shopping opportunity. At 77 the experience was not too strenuous for me, and the young teens were delighted with everything! Dress warmly though. In June the rides in an open vehicle were very chilly.
