I did my PADI Open Water course with Bali Diving Academy in Tulamben, my instructor Made was a super lovely Balinese who has patiently and professionally guided me every single steps possible to build my confidence (I'm new to diving to begin with!) and made me enjoy the dives whilst as feeling safe and protected. He was very chill, fun and supportive, and I was allowed to do the techniques at my pace.
I heard that BDA only does small class of 4 people which is great. Actually, I was lucky to get an one-on-one course as there weren't any other students in my time slots.
Moreover, I think Tulamben was a great site for beginners like me as you literally just walked into the sea and dived to the sites. Water was clear, warm and there was no current during the weekend I went (Sept 2022). For beginners, there are fewer things to worry about compared to dive in the middle of the sea. There aren't a lot going on in Tulamben and I believe people travel there mainly for diving purpose.
I dived at the Coral Garden which was truly fascinating - huge amount of aquatic lives and of course corals. The USAT Liberty wreck was very cool to see and much bigger than I thought. I had a lot of fun doing the course and would not hesitate to recommend Bali Diving School Tulamben to all my friends and family!
