They were very responsive to questions I had when booking and also afterwards. I also booked their transportation bus from Hanoi which is about $40 USD RT per person which was prompt and comfortable. They drop you off at the Paradise suites hotel and you check in and wait until a cart brings you over to the ship. I had booked Paradise Sails but 1 day before our trip, they said the ship was getting repairs and I would be upgraded to Paradise Peak which is a smaller 8 cabin ship. The ship was only half occupied so we all got lots of attention. JL was the general captain who did a great job. Net was our assigned butler, she was very nice but we sometimes had trouble communicating. The kayaking does cost an extra $50 USD.
The food is quite good. The first day lunch was a giant seafood platter of crab, geo duck, shrimp, mantis prawn, snapper, clams and oysters. The food is fresh though the same menu is offered for breakfast and dinner. Drinks are not included as part of the price. You get 2 glass bottles of water person per day. On the 2nd day, you leave your boat and go aboard the Paradise Explorer. I know some reviews said they didn’t like leaving their own boat and room for the day but it seems like they didn’t allow bigger boats in the area for our day trips. I enjoyed being on the Explorer for the day. By the 2nd night, we only had 4 people on board so JL offered to bring us to the Paradise Elegance for some live music which was a nice touch. The spring roll demo is a nice activity to do at night before dinner.
Our room was the premium suite. The boat was built in 2012 and shows signs of its age. Our sliding door was very difficult to close and the fridge didn’t work (though they offered to keep anything we wanted in their fridge). The bathroom is quite large and has a jacuzzi though we did not use it. On the way back, you get dropped off at the Paradise Suites hotel and get a light lunch before you board a luxury van back to Hanoi. Overall we enjoyed our trip a lot and recommend Paradise Cruises.
