I have visited Harry Potter themed room and was satisfied to the core.
For the majority of the escape rooms it can be extremely hard to keep the player involved in the story and not getting distracted by the puzzle logic not corresponding with the environment.
Yet here we have a great example where not only puzzles reflect the magical theme, but even asking for an advice is an act of talking to a arcane book, instead of just hearing the voice from the ceiling. And to top it up, the advices themselves were not direct guidelines, they were more of a reflection of a thought process that players themselves should have had if they wouldn’t miss some critical detail.
Puzzles are not too complicated, yet not obvious either, difficult exactly to the point where I (not the greatest escaper, yet have some experience) barely had enough time to solve everything.
Another interesting part is strict requirement to have a partner, because some of the puzzles are simply impossible to solve with just one person. It brings feeling of cooperation that many escape rooms lack.
Big thanks to Nixy and Kuba for helping us to have this magical journey!
