Tour guide Kris was a fun guide and I enjoyed her stories of life in China. The Binhai Library was an interesting library catering more to tourists than scattered studious patrons. Photos of the library include book edges that are printed on the shelves as well as actual books. A respectable English book section was available for those planning a deeper dive into the library’s content but keep in mind that it may be locked as it was when I visited. You can request that it be opened. The library is located in a Plaza with shops and 2 museums. We stopped by the Science Museum and I especially enjoyed the space exploration exhibits. The market we visited was a typical flea market that I would see at home in the US. Many open booths. I bought a few things for the fun of it and enjoyed the haggling between the shop owners and Kris. Good tour to spend on a Sunday after hitting other highlights in Tianjin during the week.
