Tangkuban Parahu Mountain is one of the mountains located in West Java Province, Indonesia. About 20 km to the north of the city of Bandung with lush pine trees and a stretch of tea gardens in the vicinity, Mount Tangkuban Parahu has a height as high as 2,084 meters. The shape of this mountain is Stratovulcano with an eruption center that moves from east to west. The type of rock released through the eruption is mostly lava and sulfur, the minerals released are sulfur sulfur, the mineral released when the mountain is inactive is sulfur vapor. The Tangkuban Parahu Mountain area is managed by the Forestry Corporation. The daily average temperature is 17oC during the day and 2 ° C at night.
Tangkuban Parahu Mountain was formed around 90,000 years ago in the Sunda Caldera. This mountain, according to T. Bachtiar and Dewi Syafriani in the book Bandung Purba Throughout its history, activities that occurred in Tangkuban Parahu have formed 13 craters. The legend story of Mount Tangkuban Parahu is associated with the legend of Sangkuriang, which is told to fall in love with his mother, Dayang Sumbi / Rarasati. To thwart her son's intention to marry her, Dayang Sumbi proposed that Sangkuriang make a lake and a boat overnight. When his efforts failed, Sangkuriang was angry and kicked the boat so it landed in a state of upside down. This boat later formed Mount Tangkuban Parahu.
