Enjoy your private VIP guided 4x4 safari across the stunning Purbeck Hills & Jurassic Coast in our customised Land Rover Defender. Maximum of 6 travelers Travelling along country roads, off-road byways and permitted landowners farm tracks, this amazing safari heads high above Corfe Castle, then on to Heaven's Gate with the most spectacular views of Poole Harbour in the East and Portland to the West, then through the Lulworth Ranges, lost village of Tyneham and the famous Durdle Door. This private safari can be bespoked to extend for a longer safari, to head to additional or alternative locations, or to include either a lovely home prepared picnic lunch or a stop at a good English Pub or Tea Room

Itinerary

  • Isle of Purbeck

    The Safari will head out exploring the best of the Isle of Purbeck has to offer in our amazing Land Rover Defender. With air conditioning and leather seats, this will be a comfortable and careful safari, exploring the area in style. Our most popular safari, starts and ends in Swanage, travelling along country roads, off-road byways and permitted landowners farm tracks. This amazing safari heads high above Corfe Castle, then on to Heaven's Gate with the most spectacular views of Poole Harbour in the East and Portland to the West, then through the Lulworth Ranges, lost village of Tyneham and the famous Durdle Door. Alternative pick up and drop off locations upon request.  Refreshments and home-made cake is provided on this safari

  • Corfe Castle

    In our customised Land Rover Defender 110, the safari will head over the hills high above Corfe Castle with spectacular views of Purbeck and beyond. Safari guide will drive off-road at a comfortable pace to enjoy the views. A stop at the top of the hill is a must. A stop in the village an option for travelers.

  • South West Coast Path - Heaven's Gate at Kimmeridge Bay

    Safari guide will again head off road and take a long narrow path to the top of Heaven's Gate and along the cliff path. The view is probably the best in Dorset and not accessible without Dorset Safari's trusty Land Rover Defender. We'll stop for a stretch of legs and a nice tea / coffee and home made cake!

  • Tyneham Village and Flower's Barrow Walk

    With your safari guide, explore the lost village of Tyneham, the picturesque village left abandoned during WW2. Learn about how the locals had to leave their homes, which was then used in the war effort as a military training area. To this day, Tyneham is only open seasonally. An option for an alternative stop will be made if the village is closed.

  • Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door

    Our final stop is to the iconic Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, both fully deserving of their fabulous reputation and must see destinations. Time available for you to head down to the Man-O-War Beach or stretch your legs taking the Jurassic Coast walk to Lulworth Cove for pick up. This truly is a fantastic end to the day before heading back to Swanage.

Absolutely perfect trip

We booked this trip with Mark as part of my father’s 80th birthday celebrations to enable him to see some of the Purbecks he can no longer walk to. Mark made this an extra special day to remember, taking us to beautiful views, sharing a wealth of information about the local area and being a truly fantastic tour guide in his Land Rover. We stopped halfway for tea and home made cakes and just prior to finishing stopped for cider or Prosecco at beautiful spots to take in the trip. Thank you Mark for such a special day, we would highly recommend this safari tour.

Mark was fantastic. Very professional and knowledgeable. We visited places we wouldn’t have even known about and had amazing views and surprise refreshments. Mark picked us up from the hotel and dropped us back at the end of the tour- perfect timing and a great day out for all the family. Lovely surprise treat for my husband’s birthday.

Memory Making Jeep Safari

This was a very enjoyable and super fun experience made special by Mark . As a family aged between 9 and 90 we were treated to views , off roading and interesting local history with everyone being wowed . Delicious homemade cake was welcome halfway round and this trip will remain a highlight of my elderly mother’s holiday where she was able to see sights she would otherwise have been unable to admire . Lots to see and look out for and the time whizzed by ! Thank you for this memorable trip !
