Overview

During this journey you will visit the National Theater, also known as “The jewel of San José”, a masterpiece in art and architecture built by Costa Ricans and completed in 1897. Then visit the Museum of Gold , then the Central Market, place full of the Costa Rican cultural heritage and traditions, where you will be able to browse and buy some local art crafts. You will also visit the Metropolitan Cathedral. As we travel around the city, we will point you out several historically important or main buildings in our city, for example The Costa Rica University, The Old Train Station, The National Liquor Factory, The National Supreme Election Bureau, the Asamblea Legislativa, The Metallic Building, some parks and various sites of interest. This will be an introduction to our Capital City, and information about our economy, cultural, politics, religion and general current events. Also, we will visit an Art Gallery, where you will be able to get some souvenirs to take back home.

very pleasant way to see San Jose

"San José: Guided City Bus Tour With Lunch & Welcome Drink" was excellent, with driver Ivan and host Jordan. I even had email access problems, and the Get-your-guide service quickly responded. The guide was bilingual, as half the visitors preferred Spanish. We saw main parts of San Jose, and had an excellent lunch. The guide was very knowledgeable, and spent a lot of time explaining things to us.

This was a great way to see the city and learn the history of Costa Rica. Our guide, Mario, (aka Bubba), was friendly, kind-hearted, and knowledgeable. He gave us options as we went along to ensure we got the most out of our experience.

Nice overview of city

Donald was amazing. He seem less translated everything he said in both English and Spanish, since our small group of about 8 people had both English and Spanish speakers. The best part was the preColumbian gold museums, but I also really liked the short walk in the park.
