Explore the breathtaking scenery of Lapland on backcountry skis, designed to let you glide over the deep snow in style and live an experience that you will long remember. There is no better way to explore untouched parts of Arctic nature than backcountry skiing and leaving your track in the deep snow where no one has been before you! Sticking to our philosophy, all our tours and activities are limited to small groups (maximum of 8 guests per tour) to get the best and most memorable experience of Lapland. We refuse mass tourism, and you will never end up in big groups - even in peak season!

Itinerary

There is no better way to explore untouched parts of Arctic nature than backcountry skiing! As your professional guide will take you straight into the Taiga forest, you will get the chance to enjoy some of the breathtaking scenery of Lapland using backcountry skis and leave your track in the deep snow where no one has been before you! Backcountry skiing is a great way to explore remote areas of Lapland. Unlike alpine skiing or cross-country skiing, which are practised on groomed trails, backcountry skiing allows you for a more adventurous trip through hilly terrains, forests and lakes. It does not require much practice to get used to the techniques and slide on deep snow. This makes it very comfortable and easy to use, even for beginners! Your guide will choose a location that best fits the level and the needs of the group. They will also teach you some safety instructions/techniques on how to use the skis in fresh snow. Refreshments and a typical Finnish campfire snack will be provided around an open fire. This ski tour lasts 3 hours, including transportation from/to Rovaniemi, barbecue snack and the skiing time (around 1 hour - 1 hour 30 minutes depending on your level).

It was so much fun! We would love to do it again. The guide was really nice. We were in the forest and the views were amazing.

Great non “touristy” activity

Absolutely loved it. Company had a few cancellations but took me out solo regardless. Guide was amazing, funny, informative and took me on a great adventure. Highly recommend. They offer an overall and boots…. Take them it gets very fresh when the sun goes down

Such A Fun Day!

Such a fun time! I booked this at the last minute and I wanted something outdoors in the afternoon. The tour operator is so professional and the booking was very easy. We absolutely loved our guide - Nick - and we were the only people on the tour. We drive to a forest on private land and went exploring. Cross country skiing takes some skill but mostly a willingness to fall and get back up again. The fire and tea in the hut were really great. I could not have had a better last day in Rovaniemi.

We had a wonderful time on this tour with our guide, Gábor. He told us many interesting things about the area, the company etc. The ski trekking was a lot of fun and our small group (4 people) was great. I highly recommend this tour.

I really liked the ski trekking tour. It was super fun and well-organized. The landscapes were amazing, and skiing through them was a great experience. Our guide, Carlos, was fantastic and made the trip even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour for a fantastic outdoor adventure.
