Overview

• Traverse the famous Crib Goch ridge en route to the summit of Snowdon • Qualified and experienced mountain guides • Small groups • Great for solo travellers, friends and families! Without doubt the most awesome route to the top of Snowdon has to be via Crib Goch. With grade one scrambles and a knife-edged arête it’s the ultimate Snowdon challenge. It starts with an easy climb from Pen y Pass along the Pyg Track before veering off to tackle the exposed ridge of Crib Goch. The bravest will march confidently along the top whilst the more nervous will be on all fours with most people managing a bit of both! The pinnacles give you a bit of easy vertical scrambling before the easy walk to Snowdon’s summit. Your return journey will be along the Miners’ Track where you’ll have amazing views back up to Crib Goch. We only work with qualified and experienced mountain guides who are fully insured and hold up-to-date first aid certificates.

Itinerary

You'll meet your MountainXperience guide at the Pen-y-Pass car park and have a chat about what the day involves and check you've got everything you need. The walk starts with an easy climb from Pen y Pass along the Pyg Track before veering off to tackle the exposed ridge of Crib Goch. The bravest will march confidently along the top whilst the more nervous will be on all fours with most people managing a bit of both! The pinnacles give you a bit of easy vertical scrambling before the easy walk to Snowdon's summit. You'll then descend to the south to the rough, rocky Y Lliwedd with its amazing views back to Crib Goch then further down into Cwm Dyli before joining the Miners' Track back to the start. The route is a little over seven miles (11.4km) and will take around six hours.

What an experience with Simon at MountainXperience! Honestly something I will never forget it was one of the best days out of my life and I really can thank you for that Simon and the amazing group I met! I learned so much as Simon was so knowledgeable and really is a great Mountain leader and I cannot wait to book up even more events with him. I felt very welcomed, safe and most importantly smiled and laughed the entire day. It was my first time going along to something like this and the whole process was just so straight forward right from the booking to the very end and this helped so much especially as I booked on my own. Highly recommend going along to an event with MountainXperience, its a life changing day and you'll really enjoy yourself! Thanks Simon.

Great hike and great guide

What a great trip. I wanted to climb Crib Goch but I knew we would want a guide and how lucky we were to use Mountina experience. It was a small group of lovely people and teh guide, Simon, was great. He kept the pace balanced so no one got left behind or exhusted. The scrambling was challenging but great fun. We even got lucky and the cafe was open so we could get a drink at the top. Sion also took some great photos so we have some lovely memmories. I would higly recommend.

Brilliant hike up and across Crib Goch... even if it was a little soggy!

Simon was our guide for the climb up and across Crib Goch! Absolutely amazing day even if the weather was not ideal. Simon did a great drop of guiding the group across the tricky parts of Crib Goch. Brilliant route finding and lots of advice, I've been walking most of my life but still felt that I learned a lot! Totally worth it.
