Overview

The experience take place in the seaview grandmother villa, where we live together from when i was born. Are you ready to discover the unique flavors of the local cuisine transmitted by my grandmother, while exploring our traditional Italian lifestyle? The experience is hands-on and you can learn some valuable cooking skills and tips. Here you will be the chef and the diner, learning to cook the specialties of our cuisine, handed down to me by my grandmother! You will learn new cooking techniques, all from the scratch that you can easily replicate at home, such as learning how to make gnocchi, eggplant parmesan and the typical tiramsù. You will be completely immersed in the Italian lifestyle in a convivial atmosphere among lemon and olive trees, and I show you also how we produce olive oil and limoncello. My goal is that this experience remains in your mind but above all in your heart!

Meeting points

Meeting point will be at the bus “Parking Sorrento Achille Lauro” (close to the main square of Sorrento). Please stand close the "ATM MACHINE OR TOILETTE SIGN” a driver will come to pick you there. Please show 15 minutes before the meeting time because the driver cannot wait for late arrivals!

SUNSET, FOOD, MUSIC AND WINE: THE ITALIAN LIFESTYLE ! Are you ready to learn from the scratch how to cook like a local in an authentic seaview italian villa from our grandmother recipes? Here, you will learn the secrets of the most famous Italian recipes in a convivial atmosphere, surrounded by lemon and olive trees, in front of Sorrento bay.The sea breeze that will cross your nostrils will become one of the basic ingredients of your dishes, making them unique and remember to don’t forget passion! Here, you will prepare healthy and authentic meals, using the best local ingredients collected from the family garden, and you will drink local wine and limoncello after relaxing with a welcoming coffee and enjoying with us. We will be happy also to tell you something about our life, our aspirations and passions, exchanging opinions, suggestions and advices. We wish that you will able to cook Italian dish at home transmitting to your guests what you have learned, but above all we wish that this experience will remain in your mind and in your heart.

This is a traditional dish made with fried eggplant, mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, and Parmigiano cheese, all baked for 15 minutes!

MAIN

Gnocchi

Our most traditional fresh pasta, made with potatoes and flour. In the end, we will mix everything with the original tomato sauce and basil!

A real highlight of the Italian leg of our holiday. It felt like we were taken into the house of a family friend for the afternoon. The setting was sensational and the food and hospitality extended to us was exceptional. I would recommend this experience to anyone at any time of the year.

Quite literally a life changing experience if you’re not already an Italian cook and Sorrento native. Exceeded all of our expectations. Beautiful, clean setting, from the van ride to the kitchen to the view; learned the ease and simplicity of creating three delicious Italian dishes at home, such that we’ll never eat the same again; throughly enjoyable and authentic experience as the result of Christiano’s command of English and sense of humor as he generously shares his family home and Sorrento heritage. I’m so grateful we did it!

Cooking like an Italian!

From the moment we were picked up and whisked up to their home, we were entertained with traditional Italian cooking! Cristiano showed us how to prepared and make eggplant parmigiana and gnocchi with a fresh tomato sauce. We also threw together a tiramisu for dessert. The simple ingredients turned out sensational and we all came home with satisfied bellies! We enjoyed the evening with a lovely big family from California. The local wine was beautiful and we finished off with their homemade Lemoncello! Looking forward to seeing if we can replicate when we get home. A big thanks to Theresa for looking after us also!

We had a wonderful experience cooking with Cristiano and visiting his family home! Cristiano was funny and engaging and the food was delicious. We went with our family of 5 (kids ages 13-21) and we all had a blast! Highly recommend this! (We went to dinner later on our trip at the family’s restaurant Mamma Che Pasta in Sorrento and loved it as well!)

A Truely Unforgettable Experience

Our cooking class with Cristiano and his family was truly unforgettable – the highlight of our trip to Sorrento! From the moment we stepped into his grandparents’ beautiful sea-view villa, we felt like part of the family. Cristiano’s light-hearted humour and warmth made the experience so much fun, keeping us laughing as we learned to make pasta, eggplant parmesan, and tiramisu from scratch. His mum was equally wonderful, guiding us with such patience and sharing family stories that made the class feel extra special. The villa, nestled between Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, has a charming garden filled with olive and lemon trees where they grow ingredients for the dishes. Their homemade limoncello was the best we tasted in all of Sorrento – truly unforgettable! At the end, we enjoyed our creations on the terrace, overlooking the sea with a glass of their own olive oil-infused wine. We also visited their restaurant, Mamma Che Pasta, in the heart of Sorrento, which felt like an extension of that warm, at-home experience. The pasta dishes were amazing (the Lemon Ravioli was PERFECTION!), and the whole experience embodied authentic Italian hospitality and charm. Cristiano and his mum made this an experience we’ll treasure forever, and we can’t recommend it highly enough to anyone wanting a taste of the true Italian lifestyle!
