Overview

Our Night Sky Star Safari is a comprehensive stargazing activity for all. Including a meal at an authentic Canarian restaurant on our way up the mountain and also stopping for an amazing sunset from above the Sea of Clouds, our activity is your introduction to the night sky, stars and the Universe. It includes the guided use of telescopes for night sky observation of visible planets, the Moon, stars, galaxies & more. Join us as we take a safari trek across the night sky with our lasers using constellations and detailed explanations of the science and mythology by expert astronomy guides. While in Tenerife, these astronomy tours are an ideal excursion for holiday makers, taking advantage of Tenerife being one of the best locations in the world for both professional and amateur astronomy. Our aim is that you have fun observing the sky and making it easy for you. We hope to give you as many WOW moments as possible!

Free pick up and return service from South Tenerife ONLY. We will message on the morning of your tour with exact pick up times and details. Please contact us if in a different area to arrange meeting point not listed and we will endeavor to accommodate your request. The language on ... the bus is ENGLISH ONLY. Our translators meet us on site and the main presentation can be in your selected language.     Our Pick Ups are from the South Zone only. We have a few stops at hotels picking up and then Drive straight to our first stop, the restaurant!

    We stop after pick ups and a short drive, at one of the local Canarian restaurants. Here you have a light meal and drinks and get to converse with the other travellers on the trip. It's a great way to meet new people with a similar interest as you. The menu is... Pork steak from the restaurants own farm and BBQ Chicken with Canarian Pots & salad, to finish a cake. Both meals include your first drink and water Wine and soft drinks are on table as well. (Vegetarian and Vegan Options available any day, also we can cater for Coeliacs) Canarian food is simple but tasty, get an insight into the traditional canarian diet!

  • Parque Recreativo Pinar De Chio

    After dinner we head up further int the mountains. We will travel through the most recent lava flows on the island and up into the forest itself. Here we will stop for an amazing sunset from above the sea of clouds. With Views of Mount Teide behind us and the lava fields all around us in the center of the Coronal Forrest make a great spot above the clouds to watch the sunset with a glass of cava! We will also take photos and a sunset time-lapse that we will share with you after your tour FOR FREE!

    From our sunset spot it's just a short 15-minute drive to where amongst the pre-historic rock formations we will be waiting with 4 high powered computerised telescopes and lasers to explore the wonders of the Universe from our own solar system to distant galaxies! We will use a mixture of mythology, science and laser presentations to guide you through the constellations and use Telescopes to enhance the visual extravaganza that appears before your very eyes as it reaches Astronomical Darkness.

Fascinating, fun and mind blowing! Telescopes were a great addition.

We did the self drive option just for the star gazing as it fit in well with our plans for the rest of the day - really good to have the flexibility of all options and it was very easy to book and seamless on arrival. Kieran and the team were all very knowledgeable, passionate and friendly and made the night fun. We had done a star gazing experience once before on Mount Teide but it didn’t have the added bonus of the telescopes - that felt extra special. Also by having breaks for people to look at the various stars/planets/galaxies of interest through the telescope it broke up the information well giving you time to absorb it, have a short break and then be ready for the next fascinating piece of information. We took my mum and she really enjoyed it too, great that they provided the extra coats and even a small hot chocolate midway through. Thanks Kieran and team - great night!

We were collected from our pick up point promptly and greeted warmly.Very pleasant journey to Asador El Teide for dinner,then on to the sunset point with glass of bubbles.Finally to the observation platform where all the equipments were set up.Thanks to all staff and scientists who help us to understand about our planet and the Solar System.Special thanks to Graig ,a great guide and educator .This is a bucket list item.

Cracking Excursion, well worth the money, been to Tenerife a dozen times and never done this before highly recommend, wrap up warm as gets cold once the sun sets, although Night Skies have coats, there are no addition costs, food, cava, hot chocolate, photos all included. We had Sonja as the guide on the coach , giving us all sorts of information on the trip up the mountain. Also the pick up points and are clearly communicated , with photos sent, communication by what’s app. Thanks for a great night.

What an experience! Well worth your money. The meal was nice and traditional with a beautiful view from the restaurant, information on the coach was interesting on the way up the mountain to the sunset spot, and the stargazing was an experience that you'd never forget. The whole night was full of fascinating views and information. All the staff are so knowledgeable on the skies and will answer any questions you may have about the stars. Not to mention all photos and videos were completely free which was a really nice extra touch. Would 100% book again!
