Sawitchaya was very welcoming and a font of knowledge. We began and ended the tour at a restaurant and tried specialties such as Koh Soi, massaman Curry and Tom Yum soup. At the first restaurant where we had Koh Soi, it was accompanied by tea salad which was one of the highlights of the day.
We spent the middle part of the tour at a local market that was for "locals". The market was clean, well organized and huge. There were an amazing array of produce as well as semi prepared and ready to go foods. Our guide, Sawitchaya, did a terrific job of explaining all the spices, produce and other assorted ingredients and how they were used to create an amazing array of prepared and semi-prepared foods for sale.
