Overview

DAY 1 After picking you up early in the morning at your hotel in San José we head to the first capital of the country, Cartago. Typical breakfast before starting the adventure of class III and IV rapids. Lunch will be on the river bank or at the camp, buffet style before arriving at the camp where you can explore the treasures of the forest. In the evening, enjoy a pre-dinner Happy Hour by candlelight. A couple of drinks and "mouths" should open your palate for the delicious menu and glasses of wine with which you will close the first day of your trip through the Pacuare. DAY 2 On the second day, wake up to the song of the river and a delicious fresh coffee that will be waiting for you with breakfast. At the end you will be able to change before heading back to San Jose where we will return you to your hotel in San Jose around 6:00 pm.

Best Rafting Trip

The white-water adventure was highlight of our 13-day G Adventure tour. Do not miss this opportunity to raft the Class III-IV rapids. The guides were excellent and made everyone feel safe, and adventure is legit. Beautiful canyon walls can be seen on trip and a serious work-out if you are looking to add something to laying around the pool. Combine the rafting trip with staying at the Ave Sol Sanctuary Lodge where you can listen to insects and monkeys louder than any human noises. Do not miss the incredible opportunity to travel this part of Costa Rica via river. Excitement Adventures is wonderful and I would book them again. Big thanks to the Esteban our guide who was also a wonderful host at the lodge along with rest of his comrades.

This rafting tour was the highlight of our Costa Rica tour! We stayed at Avenue del Sol and enjoyed every minute of the experience. Our guide Esteban was amazing, rafting was so much fun and the lodge and the food there were great. Thank you!

Esteban and his guide crew did an amazing job taking care of us on our two day adventure. This was my favorite activity for the whole month I spent in Costa Rica. All my kids had a great time, the food they cooked for us was excellent and the accommodations were unmatched. The views are beautiful and the rapids keep the adventure exciting!

Loved rafting the Pacuare with Whitewater Excitement

We loved our 3 days rafting with Excitement on the Pacuare River. The guides were a blast on the water and off. They had fun even while fixing the great meals for us, which made it fun for the rest of us. Nikki (sp?) was great guiding us on hikes, to waterfalls, and on how to swim the rapids - and cliff jumping Ethan brought the smiles and humor to our rafting time on top of skillfully navigating us through rapids and shallow stretches. We recommend Excitement for your rafting adventure!

Great way to experience the natural beauty of Costa Rica

We had a friend in CR recommend rafting the Pacuare. It was a terrific way to start our CR trip. The first day is pretty mild which was great to get used to paddling. We stayed that night at the Rios Lodge. Our room had an amazing room in a building overlooking the River. Bathroom en suite. Not super luxe but very clean and nice. The food was solid and there is even a bar. We arrived at lunch and spent the afternoon swimming in a natural pool and doing a short walk around the property. Day 2 was more exhilarating - class 3 and 4. We aren't experienced rafters but felt completely safe with our guide Esteban who was amazing. He was knowledgeable, helpful and super skilled. We even watched how the crew (there were a few boats plus a safety kayak in our group) sprang into action when someone fell out of raft. All was well and it was great to see everyone knew exactly what to do. Highly recommend!
