Overview

Feel the power, excitement, and energy of the amazing sled dogs as they pull you through wooded trails on this 2-hour tour. Enjoy the comfortable, padded seats and covers on the wheeled summer sleds that enable you to enjoy the trip regardless of the weather. Tour the kennel facilities, cuddle husky puppies, and enjoy a sled ride. Roundtrip transportation is included.

Itinerary

Your adventure begins with a 2-mile dog sled ride. Feel the power, excitement, and energy of our amazing sled dogs as they are harnessed to our comfortable wheeled sleds on this hour and a half dog sled tour. Mush through the Seward Alaska wilderness to the base of Resurrection Mountain and along Box Canyon Creek. Your guide will explain how we train and steer the dogs, and tell stories from the trail. Upon return to the kennel, tour our beautiful kennel facilities, laugh as a guest is dressed up as an Iditarod musher and cuddle adorable husky puppies*. Our guides offer a delightfully humorous, behind-the-scenes look at the Seavey family’s training for the most demanding race on earth. *We typically have puppies from late May through September

Wasn’t sure what to expect but we had a great time and learned a lot. Tour guides were so informed and the dogs were amazing. Loved the ride in the woods. Gideon, especially did a great job leading our pack.

The tour guide was very nice. Great presentation. She knew her stuff about mushing. She and the other guide truly loved the dogs and their job. It takes a lot of hard work.

Wonderful tour! The dogs were so well cared for and all of the staff were so knowledgeable. The sled ride was definitely a unique experience.

It was a unique experience. The dogs seem to love it and are well trained. The tour starts with a quick introduction to the sport, followed by a dog sled ride, puppy play time and ending with an equipment demonstration. Light snacks and hot beverages were provided. The location is 10 minutes out of downtown Seward (and not accessible by the free shuttle) but we called them and they were kind to pick us up and later drop us off at our hotel.
