This tour goes for 2 ¼ hours. It takes 15 minutes to get out there on a fast, fun speed boat with maximum of 14 people, snorkel for 1.5 hrs at our exclusive mooring located at Low Isles reef, one of just a few exclusive permits allowed to enter this WORLD HERITAGE green zone sensitive site. Then a 15 minute trip home. The reef that we visit on Option A is very protected and has a vast quantity of corals and abundant fish species, with green turtles . On this tour there is no island access, you snorkel from the back of the boat. We own two exclusive permits right on the reef edge that allows just our 2 Reef Sprinter boats to visit this reef meaning there are no crowds at all! See spectacular corals, turtles, and fish life only 15 minutes from Port Douglas and you won’t get seasick.

Itinerary

This whole tour goes for 2 ¼ hours. It takes 15 mins to get out there on a fast, fun speed boat with maximum of 14 people. You then snorkel for an hour and a half off the back of the boat at our exclusive mooring located at Low Isles reef,(There is no Island access on this tour option. One of just a few exclusive permits allowed to enter this WORLD HERITAGE green zone sensitive site. Then a 15 min trip home. The reef that we visit on Option A is very protected and has a vast quantity of quality corals and abundant fish species, with green turtles swimming nearby in the clear Coral Sea. On this tour you don’t go onto the island, you snorkel from the back of the boat. We own two exclusive permits right on the reef edge that allows just our 2 Reef Sprinter boats to visit this reef meaning there are no crowds at all! Only 15 mins from Port Douglas and you won’t get seasick. If it is windy, Reef Sprinter can be an exciting boat ride that may not be suitable for the frail or elderly or people with bad backs, bad necks or who are pregnant.

Great high speed short ride out to Low Island add back. Snorkeling was great, saw lots of coral, fish and turtles. Great trip, great crew. Highly recommended if you want to avoid the crowds on big boats with maximum 14 passengers.

This was a very incredible experience. Me and my mother wanted to go snorkelling in/around the Great Barrier Reef, but we do not did not want to spend all day on a slow boat just to get out. The boat was fast, and all the people working there were incredibly friendly. My mom does not like to swim. The older tour guide offered to take my mom out on the “glassy” (glass bottom boat) which allowed her to see all the fish and sea turtles in the water. This was not included in this specific trip but he did this just for my mom and some other passengers and it made for an incredible experience which she loved. Very happy that I could enjoy this along with my mother. One note is I wouldn’t advise doing this if you have a fear of sharks. I saw a small shark and freaked out and swam back to the boat as fast as I could. When I got on board the young tour guide said “everything alright mate?” and I said that I just saw a shark, so he asked how big was it (it was only about 3 feet). He said “it’s just a baby mate you’re fine! He’s more scared of you than you are of him” Which was very reassuring and I got right back out there. He put me at ease and gave me a laugh, and calmed me down. The speedboat was very fast and equally as fun as the snorkeling. Definitely would recommend to anyone who doesn’t want to spend an entire day to see some incredible fish and coral! The sea turtles were plentiful, I followed one around for about 10 minutes.

Don't spend a whole day on a boat!

It's less than half the time of the bigger boats to get to Low Isles or the outer reef. This is the way to go instead of spending hours on one of the bigger boats. Jason and Toby were really nice, helping to find turtles in the water and giving some interesting info about the reef and history of the Low Isles. Make sure you go when the sun is shining and the water is calm or you're not going to see much.

Perfect short trip

If you don’t have a lot of time, or don’t want to spend all day on the water this is a perfect trip. Lovely folks, incredibly knowledgeable, no chance of seasickness and accommodating to all abilities. I didn’t want to snorkel so the captain took me out on the glassy (glass bottom boat). We saw plenty of fish, reef sharks, turtles and coral. Not as colorful as the outer reefs but overall a great experience. After an hour and 20 minutes everyone was ready to head back anyway. A day would have been too much for us. Reasonably priced, definitely check this wonderful family run business out if you are in the area.

Quick and fun snorkeling trip if pressed for time!

Only had limited time for a snorkel excursion and this one was fantastic. The ride out to the reef was quick and fun. Snorkeling area pretty large and we saw a variety of coral and fish. Highly recommend if you don't have time to make it to the outer reef.
