Overview

The most popular tour! Drive your own sled-dog team with 6 time Iditarod winner Dallas Seavey's team of mushers, handlers and champion dogs on real snow in the middle of summer surrounded by amazing scenery. Start this adventure with a helicopter ride over glaciers. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and goats. Land on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with champion sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer. Take the dog team for a ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush a dog team or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After your dogsled tour meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, and of course take pictures with your favorite dogs. After the tour the helicopter takes you back to the lodge and you’ll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses. Total Tour Time: 1.5 hours - includes 1 hour with the dogsled team (aprox 30 min sled ride) and approx 30 min round trip flightseeing

Land on a huge snow eld high on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with champion sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer. Take the dog team for an exhilarating ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush your own dog team or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After your dogsled tour meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, listen to stories about running sled dog races of over a 1,000 miles long, and of course take pictures with your favorite dogs. After the tour the helicopter takes you back to the lodge and you’ll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses.

  • DRESS FOR ALL WEATHER - the weather at dog camp is high elevation and may be cold and wet. Layers with an outer waterproof shell is recommended.
  • Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.
  • VAN TRANSFERS TO DEPARTURE LOCATION NOT INCLUDED - can be added for a fee
  • BAGS/BACKPACKS/LOOSE STRAPS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE HELICOPTER - please leave all bags in the vehicle or we do have lockers to store them

Best excursion in Alaska!!!

We went on June 2022. One of the best experiences that we have on our trip. Great helicopter ride with incredible views, dogslead experience was great, the place we did the sledding was unreal, and finally the glacier landing was amazing.

What an amazing bucket list experience. Don’t have words for how beautiful the sights. Pilot Shane Cottom was fantastic and took us to the most gorgeous glacier, so worth the expense.

Amazing views...would definitely recommend! Our original flightseeing tour to was cancelled due to weather, however, we were able to rebook on another day. What an incredible experience to land on a glacier and go dog sledding...the pilot and the dog sledding trainer team were all informative, professional, engaged, and inviting. This was an experience of a lifetime!

This was thrilling from checking in to landing,. The staff were incredible. The pilot made us feel safe while explaining the glaciers. He pointed out mountain goats albeit they were white dots. The dog mushing was wonderful. We got to mush then exchanged to riders. An experience that we will never forget! The staff there were also wonderful. They explained about the dogs and we were allowed to hold puppies if we wanted. Would recommend this trip to any and everyone. A must do!

Hands-down, this was our all-time favorite excursion! Our pilots were great, the scenery incredible and the time spent with the sled dogs and mushers was magical! At a loss for words. Do it!
