I’ve taken plenty of food tours over the years, but Flavors of San Juan truly stands out—and that’s thanks in large part to our incredible guide, Claudia. From the moment we met her, she radiated warmth, knowledge, and genuine enthusiasm. She didn’t just lead us through the historic cobblestone streets of Old San Juan; she brought the city’s rich culinary history to life.
The tour itself was carefully curated, hitting that perfect balance between traditional Puerto Rican staples and innovative local bites. We sampled everything from succulent mofongo to flaky pastries bursting with island flavors. At each stop, Claudia had not only recommendations but also engaging stories and fascinating tidbits. You could tell she had a deep love for her homeland’s cuisine and culture, and her excitement was contagious.
Beyond the food, Claudia offered insights into the architecture, art, and local traditions of San Juan. She managed to connect the dots between what we were tasting and the historical influences that shaped it. We all walked away feeling like we’d gone beyond the typical tourist experience and into a world that blended taste, heritage, and community.
If you’re looking to discover the authentic heart of Puerto Rico’s food scene, this tour is a can’t-miss—and if you’re lucky enough to have Claudia as your guide, you’re in for an unforgettable treat. Five stars and a heartfelt gracias!
