The Alhambra

Your friendly local guide will pick you up from your Granada hotel by air-conditioned minibus and then whisk you away to La Sabica Hill to visit its most dramatic monument – Alhambra. Perched high on the hill overlooking the city, the incredible palace complex was first built as a fortress at the start of the 13th century. Successions of Spanish rulers made Alhambra their home. Skip past the long entrance lines with your priority access ticket and walk around inside with your guide, hearing all the history of this fascinating site. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Step inside the Hall of Abencerrajes to gaze up at its star-shaped domed ceiling, and hear the tale of the massacre that took place here during a 15th century banquet. After exploring the palaces, head to the Generalife Gardens to discover where the sultans and Moorish kings of bygone days once relaxed. At the end of your 2.5-hour Alhambra tour, your guide will drop you back at your Granada hotel by minibus.

Beautiful architecture with brilliant commentary

The Alhambra is absolutely beautiful, and strikes me as being one of the most significant places in the world. Our guide Andy was excellent. His knowledge was clearly deep and comprehensive and he was able to answer questions about historical context, as well as provide additional information about significant figures of the time, while linking the commentary to specific points within the architecture. Brilliantly done tour.

The views are amazing! We took so many beautiful pictures! It’s a place you must visit once in a lifetime. Historical, cultural, artistic and breathtaking! We enjoy a lot our tour with Estefano who was so kind and knowledgeable. I recommend this tour!

We had an amazing experience and our tour guide Andy was fantastic! He was giving the tour in English and French and spoke Spanish as well. He had a vast amount of knowledge about Alhambra and Granada in general and our 3 hours flew by!

Excellent tour, very well organized and well paced. Our guide Fernando spoke perfect English and shared interesting information throughout the tour. He checked often to make sure our audio equipment was working properly and gave us a short break mid way. He also offered to take photos at various spots and gave us great tips on what else to see in Granada.
