Typical start the tour to Mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, a must-see top attraction in Nanjing, explore the Purple Mountain neighborhood surrounded by lush greens, admire the elegant design and historic relics of the mausoleum and learn the fascinating history of 20 century under the leadership of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the “ Father of Republic of China”, enjoying a panoramic view of the city while walking up the area.

Next continue the tour to Xiaoling Tomb from Ming Dynasty. Inscribed as the USECO site, it is one of the largest Imperial tombs for the Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang and Queen Ma. Take a walk along the peaceful path guarded by the mythical “animals”, appreciate the charming garden from peach blossom, lush green summer, charming foliage in different seasons, admire the impressive ancient architecture surrounded by the mountain while listening to the fascinating history commentary from your guide.

In the afternoon, continue the tour to the city’s top visited museums at The Memorial of Nanjing Massacre, check out different exhibitions that showcase high solemn and moving sprits, learn Nanjing’s never-forgotten history when the Japanese occupied in early 20’s.

After that, visit largest ancient city wall -Ming City Wall built more than 600 years old and Zhonghua Gate, enjoy the nice walk along the wall, admire the genius design and take in the beautiful view from the top overlook the city lake, step back to learn the spectacular history of Nanjing once as the former Capital in the ancient times.

If time permits make the stop at Confucius Temple area. Experience the authentical local markets, see the interesting street vendors and the mother river Qinghuai River. Have fun learning about the local life. As exclusive private tour, if you have been to the above-suggested sites, you could replace to other attractions such as :1) Chaotian Gong ;2) Nanjing Museum; 3) Jiming Temple etc. Please feel free to tell your guide. We did this quick tour of Nanjing as a day trip from Shanghai. Sunny was very easy to communicate with, open to accommodating our train schedules and discussing customized trip plan as well as squeezing in as many sights as humanly possible within the short time frame. The guide assigned to us (Emily) was very knowledgeable of the city and history, also very patient with our family. By the way, just to set some expectations: the trip was advertised as 7-8 hours with 5 spots, but I would actually suggest at least 9 hours to really cover all of them. Nevertheless, we miraculously did all 5 in a little less than 9 hours and still made our train back to Shanghai! It was definitely quite fast-paced, but we enjoyed it. Local lunch was delicious. The van was clean and comfortable. Thanks again, Sunny and Emily (and Mr Driver, sorry forgot your name)!

Emily is a wonderful guide - expert, personable, flexible, relatable. With her help we not only efficiently experienced the main sights but also booked Nanjing museum tickets and tasted a Nanjing lunch full of duck delicacies. Thank you again, Emily!

John took us around to see all of the highlights of Nanjing. He made sure we got everywhere on time and also got ahead of the crowds and lines. His English was great and he explained a lot about the history of Nanjing. Highly recommend him for your trip to Nanjing!!!

I had also taken an earlier trip using Sunny in Suzhou and the whole setup was efficient as expected. Communication with Sunny was a breeze and all the logistic setups were seamless. I would highly recommend! My guide for Nanjing was Denise, and she was terrific. She had lots of interesting little tidbits of knowledge on Nanjing and the various dynasties that she wasn’t afraid to share. Hence it wasn’t a very cookie-cutter, but personalized tour and getting to know the local view points. My favorite one that had us in stitches was the bit about the Ming Empreor that was more interested in becoming a carpenter / wood-worker than being an empreror. She also brought me to a very local place to have some Nanjing speciality duck noodles which was extremely tasty. It was a great time with her and getting to know from a real local lens on such a historical city such as Nanjing.
Amazing day in Nanjing with Mr. Wang (Fred)

We had a wonderful time with Mr. Wang (Fred). He picked my son and me up at the train station and spent nine hours with us, showing around Nanjing and all the sites listed and more. He is extremely knowledgeable about history, architecture, travel, among many other topics and speaks perfect English. He went out of his way to accommodate us and everything we wanted to see. It was pouring all day but it seemed like a perfect sunny day for us. We highly recommend this tour and Mr. Wang (Fred) who also gives tours in Shanghai and other places. We now want to come visit Nanjing again and spend more time here because of the wonderful experience he provided for us.
