  • Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House)

    After Greeting, Drive to The House of Virgin Mary is located on the Aladag Mountains 5 miles away from Ephesus. At the third Ecumenical Council on 431 AD in Ephesus, it was claimed that Mary came to Ephesus with St. John in 37 A.D. and lived there until her death in 48 A.D. After the discovery of the house, the Archbishop of Izmir declared there as a place of pilgrimage in 1892. On July 26, 1967, Pope Paul VI visited this place and prayed there.

  • Ancient City of Ephesus

    10 min Drive to Ephesus We will start visiting one of the main highlights in Turkey, Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of Ionian League (an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor) is located near Izmir. As a port city it was a major departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor. Walk through history along marble streets lined with wonderful public buildings, among them the Baths of Scholastica, the Library of Celsus; it was built in the beginning of the 2nd century A.D. by Gaius Julius Aquila to be a memorial to his father Gaius Julius Celsus Polemanus, the proconsul of Province of Asia. , the Temple of Hadrian and The Grand Theater are two of the most impressive buildings in Ephesus. Grand theatre was built in 3rd century B.C and it was later expanded to 24.000 spectators by the Romans in the 1st century A.D.

  • Sirince Koyu

    After Lunch, drive up to the pretty old Turkish-Orthodox village Sirince, located on the top of a mountain, where anyone will enjoy the impressive wine yards’ and peach trees’. The village has synthesis of Turk-Greek culture, where we visit mosque and Orthodox church. All the narrow streets of the village belong to the women, selling handcrafts of all kinds, olive oil. Another attraction of Sirince is its wine: try its taste in small cafés.

Excellent private tour

Excellent private tour to Efes. Our guide Yavuz was incredibly knowledgable and gave us a fantastic day. We learnt about the history of the sites we’ve visited. We were very happy with our tour guide - he was great and spoke excellent English. Time and money well invested.

Go Private and Go Early

Had a great full day private Ephesus and are tour. Take our advice and start at 8:00 not the usual 9:00 to beat both the crowds and the heat. Really enjoyed our guide, Cenk Daghan. He adds a great personality and sense of humor to the information he provides. Happy to adjust the tour schedule on the fly to accommodate your changing wishes. FYI the Virgin Mary house can have huge lines as the morning moves on. When we arrived we had the place to ourselves. if you find a long line just skip it. The house itself is tiny and was reconstructed from just one corner of a stone foundation. Barely worth 5 minutes. Dagan selected an excellent roadside lunch restaurant. Again by starting our tour early we arrived at 11:30 an beat the tour busses who came later as we were finishing up. this was absolutely the best wat to experience Ephesus. Thanks Daghan!

Do the private tour and Terrace Houses!

Fantastic guide. Loved doing a private tour. Our guide and driver picked us up right on time. He was able to avoid all the large tour groups at the site! He offered to take our picture for us. Going with a guide also allows you to enter at the top of the site a walk downhill instead of going on your own and walking uphill the entire time! Also, go see the Terrace Houses. We were very glad we did! Gorgeous :). We then went to a small village and had free time to walk around and shop a little, again before the crowds, then off to lunch. Seriously, take the early pick up. We did 7:30 to be there at 8am when the gates opened. Helped cut down on crowns everywhere! Most of the tour buses have not arrived yet!
