Finally brought our kids here. What an AMAZING place. It cost $66 Canadian for all five of us….very reasonable. Parking is free and easy. There are two main buildings, and also many outdoor exhibits/activities. Highlights were the jellyfish, walruses, and the big tank which had a short glass walking tunnel passing through it. The stingray touch tank was better than other stingray touch tanks we have done, because for some reason, the ones here seemed to really have a lot more energy and “personality”! They would stand right up out of the water looking at us, as we touched them. And splash us like crazy, even! But THE gem of the Quebec Aquarium are the polar bears. The glass wall let us observe one playing underwater and having a great time, three inches away from us on the other side of the glass. You can also go up higher and observe them from above. When you do that, you are only 30-40 feet away from them. (It’s safe). No animals seemed mistreated at all. Staff was helpful and excellent in telling us about the creatures. Other highlights: the kids ropes/adventure area, and a really good playground. Landscaping is beautiful. At some spots, the park-like area is only 20 to 30 feet away from the old Quebec bridge across the St. Lawrence, and you get a wonderful view of this historic bridge from the overlook and other spots. Finally, lunch at Aqua Bistro was quick, delicious, and VERY reasonably priced. (The outdoor BBQ snack bar was not yet open, and the more formal Alize restaurant was having a private event). We spent 3+ hours here, because we took our time and did it all. It is not crowded, like the Toronto Ripley’s Aquarium. We HIGHLY recommend this for all kids and adults!
