Overview

A trip to Çatalhöyük, where you can see the excavation area containing the first finds of the transition to settled life, and the Çatalhöyük Promotion and Welcome Center, one of the best examples of digital museums in the world. Since we are a company based in Konya, our tour prices are affordable and our services are as befitting a kind host. The tour is a daily transportation service to the Çatalhöyük. It is avaliable everday except monday. On mondays the welcoming center and excavation area (and also the whole museums and attractions in Konya) is closed to the visits. Please take care of your reservation dates regarding to that situation. You will find all guiding services in the welcoming center. The enterance fee is 5 Euro which may be paid before getting in the bus or while enterance.

Catalhoyuk Neolithic City

Çatalhöyük; also Çatal Höyük and Çatal Hüyük; from Turkish çatal "fork" + höyük "tumulus") is a tell (a mounded accretion due to long-term human settlement) of a very large Neolithic and Chalcolithic proto-city settlement in southern Anatolia, which existed from approximately 7500 BC to 6400 BC, and flourished around 7000 BC.[2] In July 2012, it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.[3] The Çatalhöyük Promotion and Welcome Center built by the Konya Municipality is a great show of virtual museum technology which revives the life of achient times. Çatalhöyük Promotion and Welcome Center was designed with the aim of hosting tourists, providing information and enriching their cultural experiences.

3,5 hours trip to Catalhoyuk

We got on the bus from the City Center, Mavlana Square and reached the excavation area in 50 minutes. The Welcoming Center was perfect. A professional guide accompanied our bus group in the center. Then we visited the excavation area. It was great to see the first ancient Town of the world. After the visit we came back to the City Center with same bus. It took 3,5 hours at all. All the service was good.

Reading another review, I think the ‘tour’ is misunderstood. It is not a tour per se, but rather transportation to and from the site, a function it fulfills admirably.

This is an affordable shuttle to the site. The visitor center was recently inaugurated and provides information about the site and archaeologists' work to excavate the site. The time you are given is enough to visit the actual site and explore the interactive museum, explained by the experts who worked and continue to excavate at the site. This is a treat. It is not the travel agency's responsibility that the museum staff only provide a brief tour in Turkish without considering international visitors. Having a shuttle to archaeological sites is the most excellent idea.

Catch the 1pm shuttle from Konya for an amazing trip back 9500 years. You will have a little over 2 hours to visit the archeological site and the best interactive museum that I can imagine . The staff is extremely helpful and the site was a must see for me.
