(This was booked by me for a one day port call by the Island Princess cruise ship.)
Good value, an excellent basic overview of Tangier over the course of one day. There is a lot of moving around, and a lot to see. I was the only one booked on this day so it was like a private car and driver, and guide to the city.
Excellent work by the driver in providing WhatsApp directions on when/where to meet.
Driver did an excellent job although his English was not a strong suit. (I speak French, so that certainly made things easier for me - YMMV).
When we got to the Casbah - the real high point of the day for me - a young guide (Don Nizar) with excellent English (and French and Spanish!) took me through the city alleys. Because it was just me, he asked what I was most keen to see. I cook a lot, so we got to focus on food in the Socco: meat, olives, fruit, and (incredible) spice shops. There was a break for a traditional lunch including couscous and lamb tahini (fabulous) and afterward he took me to the superb Jewish Museum and Moshe Nahon synagogue.
The only feedback I would provide would be - because the driver who took me around for the first part of the tour wasn’t a strong English speaker - for the tour company (Spartel) to send a short “here’s what to expect” document with an agenda for the day, the night before the excursion. That would have gone a long way to clear up my befuddlement during the first part of the morning.
The day was just perfect and a real eye opening delight for this first time visitor! I can highly recommend. Now I really want to return for an extended time in Morocco to do a “deep dive”.
